I'd really like to raise the front of my '92 D250 about 2 or 3 inches. I don't really think that it's sagging, It's just a bit low for my taste.
It was also a bit too low when a Chevy made a poorly timed right on red and his rear bumper merely clipped the top of mine on it's way to causing $5700 in damage and not inflicting a scratch on the Chevy! It was unbelieveable! My truck was thrashed and only a lengthy argument prevented it from being totalled. The only sign of impact on the Chevy was a bit of my bumper rubber smeared on the bottom of his trailer ball. That was a stock '85 Chevy 4x2 short bed. I don't want that happening again.
I'll also need to raise it a bit if I can ever afford a Reunel replacement front end.

Feets, I recently replaced the entire frontend on my truck using all MOOG parts. The new front springs raised my truck about 3/4 to 1 inch. This my not be enough for you, but it sure makes a difference in my truck. MOOG listed the 1 ton and 3/4 ton Diesels as having the same part number for front springs. I posted all of the part numbers with prices some time back, just search under my name and it should come up. I didn't understand exactly what happened with you and the chevy. Could you explain again. Later.

about the Chevy incident...
I was heading to mother's house for a Saturday morning breakfast.
It was raining outside and I was headed down hill.
The Chevy driver stopped at a red light then made a right turn into the left lane. He stopped within 20 feet to turn on the side road. He couldn't make the turn due to traffic.
The problem was that I was travelling right at 35 mph and was in the intersection when he pulled out. I had nowhere to go since there was oncoming traffic and a car beside me. The best I could do was hit the brakes and hope for the best.
I hit him pretty hard. My speed was between 25 and 30 mph and he was sitting still. His bumper caught the top inch or so of my front and then went right through the grille, intercooler, radiator, core support, and front fenders. Total damage was $5700+ to my truck and zero to his. My grille didn't even mark his tailgate. I couldn't open my driver's door.
The only injury was when his kid (who wasn't seatbelted) bounced up and smacked his head on the rear glass. He had a bump on his noggin but that was it. We got pretty lucky.
Did I mention that his insurance had been cancelled?
Fate being what it is, I had a 14 yr old kid run a stop sign in Mommy's new Mudstain GT and I hit him broadside, but it was fairly light. Minimal damage and no injury. His father paid me in cash (to prevent legal troubles and/or deportation).
SEVEN days later, I was in rush hour traffic on my way home from work. A woman in a Camry pulled out of a parking lot directly in front of me. This was another hard hit that lifted (and held) the side of her car off the ground, blew out the glass, and buckled the roof. No injuries, but another $4800+ damage to my truck. I was sooooo ****** that I walked over to the parking lot and sat down so I wouldn't do something stupid to the no-speaka-english woman. There was a cop following my turck and all he had to say was "we're not supposed to talk about it, but I know what I'm putting in my report. "
I just wish people would leave my poor little truck alone.
Anyway, how can I get this thing up a little bit? Are there any taller springs available?

I replaced my front coil springs almost three years ago. I also destroyed a new coil spring compressor in the process of changing them out. I think I'm due for a complete front end rebuild now. My front end is already starting to sag again, especially on the driver's side. As for the idiots without insurance go, I had a 72 F-250 cut me off and send me into the center divider at 75 mph on the freeway. I rode down the center divider at a 45 degree angle and groung the left front corner of my bumper flat. After I pulled out of it, this idiot tried to run, but I was right on him. After he finally pulled over, he gives me an expired insurance card and a lame excuse that he needs to get his pregnant 17 year old girlfriend to the hospital. I never did get my truck fixed, but I was amazed at how little damage was actually done. These are pretty tough old trucks, if you are luckey enough to hit with your bumper.

feets- I raised the front of my 91 one ton with a ranch add a leaf-it gave me an extra inch of height. skyjacker sells a lift kit that will also level the truck. I have a heay metal front bumper and winchn setup and that combined with the OEM stance of my truck had made it nose down somewhat. In my town of 2000 up here in god's country we don't have so many traffic accident horror stories. If you can take six months of snow you should come see for yourself. Good luck with the front end dilemma. I'm sure a spring shop can re arch the springs to pick up the front of the truck with out compromising ride quality.

Feets I had the same problem with mine. I think that my springs were sagging in the front. I fixed this for $13 with a set of long shackles to replace the rear shackles on the front leaf springs. The set I got has 3 holes for different hieght. I have mine in the second hole which gave me 2-3 inches. If you really want to see the difference, look at the links to my pics in my signature, then go to page 7 of reader's rigs and look at my truck before. I actually had someone comment on those first pics saying "I have a 2 wheel drive too" #ad
time for a lift I said.

feets,

I rebuilt my 1990 1-ton front end with poly bushings, springs from Eaton Detroit spring, new ball joints, and new spring isolaters from Dodge. It raised my front end 4 inches and has not started to sag after almost two years.

Maybe something got missed...
I've got a D250... not a W250.
We're in two wheel drive mode.
4x4 is about as easy as you can get. I've been that route before. I'd really like to hoist the front of my 4x2 this time.
Thanks for trying.
Any other suggestions?

It might affect the ride, but my father-in-law had a cheffy 1/2ton and he just got the spring rubbers for in between the coils, sort of like NASCAR. Raised the nose of his little rocket about 2". It may make the ride a little rougher, but the Cummins is about 600lbs heavier!LOL

You will gain about a half inch height with the rubber spring blocks, but it's a band aid fix that will only last a couple of months before the rubber compresses. Been there done that! For around $125. 00, you can buy new coil springs, and Autozone will loan you an internal type coil spring compressor for free, even if you don't purchase the springs from them. You will probably find your front end in need of ball joints, A arm bushings, and strut rod bushings. While you are doing the springs, it is a good time to change the rest of these items out.

Sound to me that you fellas need a better front bumper, or maybe a snow plow. Its better to squash the other vehicle than your own. Also sounds like these drivers without insurance are a big problem, up hear they impound the car. For DUI they impound the car and suspend the drivers licence for 90 days on the spot. In Ontario the owner of the vehicle is resposible for it, if you loan out and the driver is suspended or DUI, the car still gets impounded. They even have number to call to verify a driver's licence is good.
Funny thing is I still have to buy extra insurance to cover uninsured drivers.

Have you thought of air bags like they use on feords 4X4 that have a plow ? My best bet would be to rebuild the front end and find some new springs that are taller and carry the same load, or a really big bumper ! #ad
Give the local spring shop a call, maybe they have an idea

I've thought of air bags, but just where would you install them? Most installations I've seen mount inside the coil springs. Unfortunately, I've got a shock absorber that runs through the center of mine.
