My work truck tends to slip in and out of OD on the freeway. Once it drops out I have to feel around for the spot where it will want to shift back up. Any clues as to what I should look for with this?

I searched Tps and it seems everything I needed to know & more has been posted... should've run a search first before posting.
still don't know what 'aaps' is, though...

APPS = Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor

TPS in common lingo for Throttle Position Sensor

I guess Dodge said it didn't have a "throttle" so they changed it

My brother and I had 94 trucks. They both did it at times. Never did find out why. Just hit overdrive again and would not happen for weeks or months??

Had this problem twice on my 92. Changed out TPS but still had problem. Dealer cost is like $160. There are two thermal switches in the system, first one is coolant behind fuel filter which stays open until 60 Degrees F. It keeps from lugging engine when cold. Second is trany temp in cooling line by front left of trany pan. It opens at 273 Degrees F and downshifts trany when running hot. After getting gouged on TPS price, I wasn't about to buy any more over priced switches. I just put a jumper wire in both swith connectors and tape them up. Haven't had a bit of problems in 10 years. PS. I used the port on the trany line for the thermal switch to connect a trany temp gauge. Thanks Dodge but I'll do my own down shifting if needed. good luck, jumper wire is cheap.

If you found your stuff on a search, you know there is an adjustment on the bottom of the TPS. It is really sensitive and a tiny movement will alter it's "sense" quite a bit. There is a way for geniuses that understand spark that comes from sky (electricity), but I just keep moving the thing until I get it where I want it to shift. It is usually good for a year or so and then vibration takes it's toll and I do it again.

Dealer cost is now $300+ from what I have heard.

Piers Diesel Research has an instructional how-to on adjusting the TPS, with diagrams and pictures.
