I was in town last night, and saw my old pickup (93 W350, CC, aluminum flatbed, 5spd), and flaged the kid down that was driving it. Turns out I used to rodeo with his older sister way back when (if I could get her back into it now... :D) ANyway, he let me take it for a test drive, and it sure is different from my non-IC truck. Boost gauge doesnt move as fast (still stock- I put it that way when I sold it to the guy he bought it from), but truck will almost keep up with Mom's. The "mechanic" I sold it to didnt take that good of care of it, and it has several leaks, but I think I can still save it for the kid. He says he wont have anything else, unless it's another CTD Ram. I told him about the TDR, and told him he really needs to join.

IT does have an electrical poblem. It keeps blowing fuses for the dash lights. Since it was dark, and I have a policy against doing more than AFC adjustments by flashlight (did that, he liked it) if it isnt a dire emergency, I havent looked at it. But, what should I look for besides the obvious wire rubbed through, bad ground, etc?

The dash lights and tail lights are on the same circuit. Check the wiring under the flat bed.

Also check the headlight switch to see if the light brown center terminal is burnt out for the tail lights. This is a common problem on the first gen trucks.

Now that you mention it...

I turned on the interior light to see how fast I was going, and lost the headlights for a second till I got it jiggled just right. So, I'll tell him we need to put in the extra switch I have. Oh boy, yip yip yip yip yahoo. But... he has all his tail lights. BAck to wiring under that dash.
