Mackin you need to go packing because your duracrack is a jacking. Heads a crackin and Rods a smackin

Dont drive along side my 12 Valve unless you want your windows to blacken... . :-laf

that is at least until you start to be passin...

TTS RACE - EDGE 515/1049 #2

Well- Signal you prob wont see Mackin along the road next to your 12V. If you visit his local GM dealer you might be able to back up next to the service bay and blacken his windows while his truck is getting new injectors. You might get some soot in Mr. Goodwrench's eyes though. :)

you know mackin you can just go back to your little duramax site and talk about how much better you think they are and just leave us all alone. you have no reason to walk in here and talk crap about another member expressing his veiws and opinions many of which we agree w/. this is a free country we are allowed to do this and you have no right to site here at your computer and trash talk other members. so just go and leave us dodge boys in peace ok.

lastly we don't really care what happened at the other site why hoot was booted or what he said it doesn't matter.

By any chance did you just wake up? It appears a fellow brother Dodge owner who knows very well I'm a registered subscribing member brought up his issue with the site I moderate on and removed him from.

Gheesh ,I guess reading the topic that your posting in wasn't necessary before responding intelligently. Your bad

No we dont like solenoids. They break and wear out. My brain and foot can controls it just fine. Good luck replacing a solenoid in a few years that is discontinued. Also, rats love chewing solenoid wires :)

Also, the name is EBottema, not Ebuttema, nice immature childish comment. So far, it seems that you are immature, lack logic and common sense. Explains the poor judgement in your purchase of a degenerate vehicle.

My bad on the miss-spelling. That's why I liked E' but I don't want you to think I'm ghetto.

Are you serious?Do you know anything about what your talking about or you just bang on the keyboards?Maybe you have rats hanging around your homestead (pretty sure of that) fortunately I don't.

Not to mention,

I wasn't even referring to you. I can already tell you a waste of time,Grow up

Since I ordered a new Mega Cab recently I figured I'd go drive a new GM with the LBZ 360/650 Duramax and 6 speed Allison for a comparison. It's not that I have cold feet but I reckoned I owed it to myself and wallet to at least investigate.

Anyway, I figured the powertrain would be awe inspiring and make me second guess my Mega Cab order. Well folks, it's not. I really thought the truck would be a rocket but general cruising yields roughly the same performance as my current 305/555. I'm sure if I floored her it would perform better than my truck but I don't drive around town like that so whats the point. Also, the GM brakes still suck, the steering is very heavy, and the rest of the truck is rather vanilla. Not to mention the rear seat of the GM crew cab is barely larger than my Q/C.

Bottom line is the new Duramax/Allison is not great enough for me to even consider a GM truck at this point.

What GM does have is the option of a full size bed with a real crew cab. That is where Dodge falls short. I'll give them that.

The rest of the Dodge is certainly in line with the competition. I put GM diesel down under the Dodge now because of it's history of injector failures and the constant engine redesigns... under the auspicies of power but really based on 2007 emissions requirements. Look, they have redesigned the engine three times now since 2001. Not that the Cummins hasn't had big changes over the years. It has. But for some reason I feel much more at ease with this truck all the way around.

After having both the Dmax and the Cummins now I feel like the Dmax has simply too much crap on it and too many things that are finicky. I used to limp the Allison at will. Common when adding power. Reading the forums it's pretty clear there are plenty of issues with it and everytime they change it more problems surface. Classic GM

At this point I would not touch a new Dmax. Too many iffys. The second redesign was a step back. This third one has to be debugged. Good luck. It seems like it never ends.

Keep it simple. Dodge does it!

Certainly GM has had some problems with the Bosch injectors in the lb7 years. To say the LLY and new LBZ will inherit the same issues is ignorant at best if you think about it.

So far that hasn't been the case.

The Allison being a electronically controlled and shifted 5 speed and now 6 speed transmission has built in safety control. Shift range inhibits, referencing to as limp mode, keeps the transmission from seriously damaging itself because someone wants to take it beyond what it was designed for. It's as simple as reading input output shaft speed, sees a slip, defaults to a predetermined forward gear. Never leaves you stranded. Very few if any have had a problem STOCK,where the Allison shines as a HD automatic.

In reference to adding power enhancements that have gone beyond the manufactures recommendation then a safe mode is a positive. Most guys that are serious about making power we build the Allison to avoid this and have added holding power. Certainly cannot base opinion on taking something where it wasn't designed.

No one with a good sense about them would expect any transmission, any brand, to take continue abuse and hold up. Your running on hope and luck.

You play you pay

Mac, Do you have a dog in this hunt or did you just slip? :-laf

I'm quite sure there are AM trans builders that would have something to say about "any transmission, any brand" not holding up to an increase in performance.

The "we" in your quote is my major question on your loyalty to the GM brand.

Mike

I meant in stock dress, sorry for the confusion. It was in reply to Yo-Hoot implying he limped his under Motor HP/TQ increases with out any build up. Certainly a modded Allison or any brand for that matter will hold.

... ... . Do either of you guys give up? Hoot, Mack..... just stop it. :-{}

Hoot, don't bring his name up and cry 'woho is me', bringing your personal problem out.

Mac, let it go. I know you're afraid of "bad press"... . but sheeesh, I think folks can figure our who's who after a while.
