Well... mine just went out. It did last 68K miles though... guess that's the good news. Lucky that I'm carrying two spare pumps. Did a roadside side replacement and I would rate that as a mild PITA. Went in from the top but can see were removing the starter and doing it from below would be somewhat easier.
My problems started with a light hesitation while towing our TT up a grade. It happened several times that day and when we pulled over for the night I changed the fuel filter. We had just spent 3 month in Mexico and I suspected a load of dirty fuel.
That fixed things for a few hundred miles. . but by time we got back into Idaho it was hesitating again. There were a few times it wouldn't pull the trailer faster than 50mph. I knew it was the LP now. Filling the fuel tank seemed to make things right (less draw?)... . so we filled up and made it home.
In my case it did give a warning that is was failing. I've got one spare pump but after that... maybe the FASS or Airdog... we'll see.
