Well I was looking for a reason to post a few pics of my 06 DRW but not like this. Have a look at my photo gallery. 6pm on a snowy Friday, she was twice the legal limit. To make matter worst her oldman pulled up in his SUV after it happened and he was at the legal limit.

Tell me she bent your frame#@$%! I detect a new truck in your future. Also don't sign any thing for the hospital saying you are fine for at least one year. #@$%!

She is drunk, make her pay and pay hard#@$%!

She was taken away in handcuffs, he was in the back of another police car not sure what happen to him. I'm concerned the frame may be twisted but i can not find any obvious signs. The cab damage is way i am concerned. The gap between the cab and bed is the same on both sides and appear normal. Did the rubber cab mounts flex that much to cause the damage? she hit so hard it moved the truck two feet up hill. I will be calling the body shop Monday

MoparDave,

From the looks of the damage, I take it you are ok? That's what is most important.

Unfortunately, it will be difficult at best to make her pay because it's the insurance company that the lawyers would go after. Too bad really, it would serve her right to have to make a payment to you for a while.

Just glad you are ok man.

How many times have you fallen down in the middle of the street and cried for an ambulance ... ... ... ... AND lawyer? :-laf A new truck? Get real!

Glad to hear you weren't in the truck Dave, I'm sure that bed smacked the cab pretty good, but all is probably good. Slow motion video shows some wierd stuff moving around in situations like this, and your neck would be stiff as a board if you were in the truck.

The good thing is, she didn't kill the neighbor kid shoveling a driveway to make a few dollars so he could take his sweetheart to the movies on Friday night. Good things never happen in a drinking/driving situation, and this is coming from a Budweiser stock holder!

I am glad no one was hurt, but it just lights the fires in me when an accident is caused by a drunk. I have no sympathy for them at all and firmly believe that the penalty for them should be painfull to point that it changes their attitude.

I know this sounds hostile but having been "T" Boned by a drunk years ago who ran a red light and then find myself waking up in the hospital in the emergency room is not my idea of normal.

I have no patience with them.

We are way to lax on drunk drivers, recently there was a news story about a guy that was just stopped for his 39th drunk driving charge, he doesn't have a license, just doesn't care, drives anyways.

I would take a close look at the rear crossmember with hit like that. Also I would guess that the left frame rail has been pushed forward. Doesn't look like she made it under far enough to get to the axle but if the frame rails are tweeked it will be out of alienment.

I was at the body shop this afternoon looks like 3k in damages so far. They are going to put it on the frame jig to make sure its not twisted. The line-x will need to be touched up. I'm guessing to all said and done 4k if the frame is ok

Ditto on too lax. If it were up to me you would sign a statement when you get your drivers license to the effect if you are caught driving drunk--lifetime loss of license and if you drive without one 30 days in the electric chair. It seems like all these people are driving drunk because they are too drunk to walk.

If people like to drink and drive so much, when a drunk causes a crash they should be taken to a jail and being that they like alcohol so much, why not inject them with alcohol untill there BAC is oh lets say 10% or so?

That sounds like a good idea but oh wait they have rights... ...

Yeah, I've got very little patience for drunk drivers... The penalty should be MUCH more stiff. I think that if you are caught driving "fitshased" you should loose your liscense for 6 months, no exceptions. Second offense, lost for 2 years. Third offense, 5 no parole in jail and no liscense EVER again. Then, if you get a DUI while driving on your revoked liscense, 10 years in prison, no parole, and permanently revoked liscense.

I agree with the stiff drunk driving penalties, but I do believe the . 08 should be raised to . 12.

And yes, I have my own drunk driving sob story to go against people driving drunk.

A friend of mine's husband was killed along with his two daughters (previous marriage) by a drunk driver that got on the interstate going the wrong direction. :{ The drunk had just got his license back from a suspension the day before!!! #@$%!

I hate drunk drivers and am glad you had a much better outcome.

Let me ask you this, would you rather meet on a one lane country road at night a 16 year old with a BAC of . 05% or a 40 year old alcoholic who's BAC is . 20%. Can you really tell when you are at . 08% or . 10%. There are so many facotrs that you have to consider just to come up with a BAC at any given time. Who cares what the law is just simply dont drink and drive. And lets not get hung up on that magic number BAC. The bottom line is the ability to operate a motor vehicle safely, and if you are impaired by alcohol or any drugs then you are not safe on the road.

Someone who breaks into a house and steals items and gets caught is usually charged with a FELONY and will more than likely serve prison time, on the other hand a DWI driver is caught and charged it will be a MISDEMEANOR for the first 3 times in most states then they are finally charged with a FELONY. Drunk drivers kill more people per year on the roadways of the united states than all the burglars put together in history. That is a shame... .

Sorry I will get off my soap box Ignore this if you are easily offended.

maybe now is not a good time for me to be getting into this discussion but please read this. Ethan was my best friend. The drunk driver was going the wrong way on the 101fwy in L. A. Now tell me again about how you want to raise the BAC to . 12

Why even have a limit?

If you get pulled over with alcohol on your breath, DUI time.

Having a limit on the amount of alcohol makes it OK to drive up to a certain point.
