Anybody done a dually to single conversion.

The overloaded post is still on my mind after about a week. that usually nevery happens. putting my family in finacial danger by being over loaded is not something easily brushed off.

Any Califonia highway patrol out there to give us the real skinny on GCWR, accidents, and tickets. What do you guys look at when calculating loads? Is the door label key?

I'm not quite sure what you are getting at. I assume you have a DRW truck now? or are you thinking up trading trucks and then converting the dually to SRW because you don't want the DRW's?

If you are planning on getting a DRW truck and converting it to SRW to take advantage of the 12,000 GVWR door tag, from a legal standpoint you'd still be "in the fire" so to speak since you modded the truck, unless you used a tire and wheel combo that had the same limits as the stock DRW's (19. 5's maybe ?). I believe Earthroamer did something similar to avoid being over the manufacturer's GVWR rating. You might want to take a look on thier site.

Unless, of course, I totally missed your point! ;)
