DRW to SRW

So what needs to be done to convert a drw to srw?



So far I can only think of:

•Dually fender flairs removed and replaced with standard trim. (Is it that simple?).

•Rear SRW axle needs to be swapped in.

•Front hubs need changed.



Is that the extent of it?



Will a D80 SRW rear axle bolt up ok? What about the e-brake?

You wouldnt really do that would you? Something about those duallys spews masculine pheremones (sp?) all over the place for all the babes to drool over! I'm thinkin you probably just wanna know everything there is to know about our trucks right? I say if you get a 350 dually keep it that way, except i dont know how it is out there but out here one ton trucks gotta get safetied every year, thats the only bummer. I love dually dodges with rumblin Cummins tho

The bed sides are different for a dually. The cutout where the dually fender mounts are a lot larger and higher than a SRW. So you would need a SRW bed or flat bed.



Items 2&3 you listed need done to.

I was thinking about this a while back. I run a lot of very narrow streets and sometimes clearance is such, that I just shut my eyes and hope I don't scrape too much!



If you want to know about the fabrication required for a Dana 80, check with RonA. I don't know if he was changing axle lengths, but it was a 70 to 80 conversion. It didn't seem to complicated, provided you have your own welder.

Yeah, just get a 3/4 ton. Oh, that's right, you already HAVE one, that you are selling because you are tired of buying turd polish :-laf. See, guys, he is never happy. He can never just drive something; he has to fiddle with and tweak stuff until he decides he wants something different (not quite as bad as I, his long lost brother, though). Almost glad I didnt go up there last month. I dont know how she puts up with him, except maybe his fingers of fury translate to a silver tongue as well.



Seeing as he cant make up his mind what the heck he wants, I say he needs to get a Ford, let the oil pump crap out at 135K, come back to the Dark Side and never look back. Get a dang dually and never look back. If you get too many babes clamoring for a ride with ya, send a few my way. No fat chicks, though; they have too many here as it is.
