If it is the size that bothers you, there only a couple of options. But, if you feel you are wasting fuel and rubber with six tires on the ground, and don't need the extra capacity, try this. Get a spacer made to eliminate the inner rear whell, remove a few spring leaves to smooth the ride.



Then, if you do decide to sell or trade, the truck can be returned to original condition.



Just a thought.
 
Tried PMing no response. But could someone explain the "spacer" business -

Why can't I just remove the outer rear wheel? All I want to do at first is try it out then if I like it go for a box.
 
Another consideration is the weight rating of the singled out dually wheel. I don't believe it's as strong as a "regular" wheel designed for SRW use. I think they're only rated for something like 2800 lbs each. That's plenty for the front axle, where weights rarely exceed 5200 lbs regardless of load in the bed, but on the rear that would be a little light IMHO.
