Ok, so i have to ask, which DSS is the "right one" and which one is that "wrong" one? I have a friend that wants to buy one, I already have one. i bought mine from Rip at Source Automotive. I paid ~200 for mine. Now, Source has theres for $209. 00, but DT Pro Fab also has the DSS listed on their site, and is priced at $169. 00. Are they the same product, or is one a "copy cat"?

Thanks!

Are you sure there both DSS , there are at least 3 after market , besides , the adjustable option , which is what I bought at Mikes custom trucks ND .

I am confused about the adjustable part.

I have never seen an adjustable DSS. There are adjustable track bars.

As far as the DSS I have looked at the different makes and they are about identical. They used to use different shaft support bearings but I think they all use the same one now. I would go for the cheaper one. I bought mine from PSC to save a few $.

To clarify:

Source Automotive carries the original Solid Steel DSS as well as our trackbars, conversion kits, control arms, etc.

DT Pro Fab is a copy and not in anyway affiliated with Solid Steel.

PSC is another copy of ours. They used to purchase directly from us up to 2 years ago, they copied our design and build them themselves.

Incidently I have received a few phone calls (another one today) from people confusing PSC's stabilizer with ours complaining of not fitting properly, wrong size nut/shaft, and having to add spacers to the bearing to make it work.

If you want the original DSS with 100% satisfaction guarantee, order one made by Solid Steel Ind. Ltd.

I had no idea that there were companies making copies of the steering stabilizer. I wondered why there was such a price spread.

Russell...

I had mine installed at Enterprise Engine Performance in Thornville,OH almost two years ago and it was some of the best money I ever spent. I also had Doug have the guys do the 3rd Gen trac Bar and Lower Control arms which has my truck driving like it should have from Ma Mopar.

My question is this...

IS Solid Steel going to make a Upper set of control arms for the 2nd Gen trucks as I would like a set for mine?... ... ..... Andy

Yes, we have adjustable upper control arms in the works, they should be available in the new year Jan/Feb.

This will allow you to position your front axle front to back and still maintain proper caster.

They'll work great on the trucks with 2 or 3 inches of lift that want to run larger tires without rubbing on the fender well, as well as stock height trucks on up to 6 inches of lift.

i just ordered mine from Rip i made shure to get the right one solid steel from canadaOo. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. cant wait my sector shaft moves back and forth a lot i was shocked and no leaks?

I saw a DSS somewhere on the web. It was made of tube steel, has a bearing like the other. It was available in different powdercoat colors.

Can anybody find it?

I searched 'till I was blue-in-the-face.

Russ,

On the online installation instructions for the DSS for the '94-'02 4X4 & 4X2 trucks it say to tighten the ½" allen screw on the lock collar.

I think you mean 1/8"?

I bought one of the "original DSS" units for my '02 2/4 when they first came out - got it from Piers - installation and fit was fine and easy - was a "no-brainer" add-on, no issues of any kind...

Dunno about the others, but the DSS gets the job done!
