Are there any preference on which is better? I noticed Geno's doesn't carry the DSS. I am getting bigger tires in a week and thought I would start out this way instead of going through 3 steering gears.

Ok, now here comes the million dollar question? Which mods to start with? Should I concentrate on the air and fuel system in the first round. Followed by the transmission in round 2. Then in the final round (MMA style) get a programmer/injectors/turbo??? Looking for something that is streetable, daily driver, can tow a 3 horse slant camper. Would like it to get decent fuel econ too but know that is controled by the right leg. Not looking to set any land speed records just want something with a good amount of power that will last, forever preferably. Don't know much about the 3rd gens as I had the last one 10 years.

If I am not mistaken the DSS and BD are 99% the same. DSS invented it for our trucks and other copied it. Its not a new concept as jeep guys have been doing that for years.

As for the mods, its just like your old O1. Trans, then more power.

Good luck

What do you need to upgrade on the 48RE, torque converter and valve body or the full monty like the 47RE. The truck I bought only has 17,000 miles on it. still has the new truck smell. I made a lot of mistakes with the last one and want do this up right the first time.
