I couldn't get Darin to return my email asking for info on his products, they look great but I can't order one! Thuren, that bar looks great, but I have to say the bracket looks a little small. And I cant see any lateral support. Other than that nice stuff. I need to do something with my front end soon it takes a hard left anytime I hit the brakes. Yes I have checked the brakes and it is not them.

Track bars 03

It looks like Darin at solid steel has the bracket figured out! Why doesn't someone just build a tougher clone for the 03 dodge track bar and sell it for $150 or less and they would make lots of money.

I just installed the SS bracket and 03 trackbar this afternoon, and have only driven it about 20 miles, but the improvement in control is remarkable!

Installation is straight-forward. Everything fits like it should, and it is SOLID! My application took some extra work because of my Meyer plow mount. We had to remake the one frame mount to accommodate the SS bracket, but it wasn't too involved, and it's stronger now than stock.

This is an A-1 upgrade. Worth every penny!

That thunderfab track bar looks nice but the bracket looks much weaker than the DT. It will allow for too much flex.

If anyone is interested, I am an authorized dealer for DT products. I can get a great deal for you on their parts. Please PM me for pricing.

Im not sayin anyone is wrong here or anything, but I just wanted to point this out. People keep mentioning over and over again about adjusting the tracbar for different lifts. In my opinion, the tracbar is adjusted incorrectly when the front tires are centered in the vehicle. It is adjusted correctly when the bumpstops contact their pads centered. The easiest way to corectly adjust it is to remove the springs, jack the axle up and adjust until the pads/bump stops are centered. If the trac bar is lengthened to accomodate a lift, as the axle travels upward, it also travels further sideways than when at stock length. This will put the bumpstops in an incorrect position when they contact. Again, this is my opinion, and it is shared with others. I just wanted to bring it into the "light".

Coyote556,

Yes, I installed a DSS soon after they were available. Great product also!

I realized today as I was driving around that the brake pull issues that have been dogging me lately have all but disappeared. The old track bar must have really been loose!

I retightened that 215Lbs bolt again after a few hundred miles. Got a bit more out of it! Lets see the flex bar is bending to 215 ft lbs. Took the wheel off to tighten both times. SNOKING

did you all notice that on the 2003 trackbar it looks like the rubber bushings are crimped in? how would you ever go about replacing them if they wear out??

Snow King until you hold both pieces in your own hands and have a mettalurgical knowlege appliacble to steel strenths and steel properties I suggest you keep your plow shut as you are wrong, both work well both are proven and you just keep blowing off steam looking ignorant or under the employ of a competitor!

You sure got on the wrong side of the bed today!

One of the big advantages of the Solidsteel setup, is that one will always be able to go to DC or the aftermarket when they are available, for a replacement trackbar, for years to come.

I stand behind my statement that the Thunderfab Trackbar "bracket" in the pictures presented in this thread and their web site, does not appear to be in the same league with the Solidsteel bracket. That goes to design, thickeness for metal, welds, mount points, load distribution and finish. I would also note that a piece of flatbar stock only makes a good brace when you pull on it. It is not a good brace to push on, as it can buckle in the middle. Also the Solidsteel bracket does not require welding to install, like the Thunderfab unit.

I have had a DSS for a number on years, and recently installed the Solidsteel 3rd gen bracket. I am a happy customer!
