My 2001 QC 2500 SB sits very tail high. I want it to sit almost level but not quite. D25 Skyjacker coils will lift a little too far I think so I am leaning towards leveling kit. I have seen reference to DT track bar in other discussion. Where and how much? Any other comments regarding D25 vs leveling kit would be appreciated.

FYI: I have 039/038 coils in front and camper special leafs. planning on 305's or 295's. I have priced D25's @ $165/pair and leveling @ $130.

Thank You

I used the D25 coils and it sits perfectly level. Easy install and rides better too. I wish I would have done these 40,000 miles ago. :)

The SJ springs will lift the same amount as the leveling kit. They are better than the spacers though, in that they improve the ride quality. They are definitely worth the money.

The track bar you are most likely referring to is the DT track bar. It runs $330 shipped to your door and it is worth the money.

I have both the 2 1/2" Skyjacker lift kit and the DT track bar, and I can confirm that without adding in the extra rear leaf spring that came with the SJ kit, my truck is dead on level now.

Not for long when my Denver Off Road bumper arrives in 2 weeks :D:D:D

I want to lift only front and have truck sit just a little tail high with the factory camper special springs in the rear. Is this possible?

Secondly, does the D25 or leveling kit require the DT track bar? What is DT web address? If I don't go with new track bar can I modify existing bar to re-center axle?

Sorry for ignorance but I am new to all this.

If you want the rear to sit a little higher you're gonna have to raise it a little too. An add-a-leaf will work, it will add between 1. 5-2. 5".

The DT is not required with either option. However it is recommended because the stock set up as we all know is a huge piece of crap. For the money it is your best bet IMO. Here is their website http://www.dtprofab.com/ You can go a cheaper route by adding a Skyjacker track bar drop bracket which will put the differential back in the stock location. They run about $80 new. I just sold one and I think I have a used one in the garage minus the hardware.

Tom, do you mean that the Denver bumper is going to make the frontend sag?

I thought that one advantage to this bumper was the light weight.

level kit

I bought a "JACK IT" (888-4-jackit) level kit it is actually about 1 1/2 inch which leaves the front of my 02 quat LB about a inch low in the front. The kit was $130. 00 and nice built... .....

Well, yes, and that is the reason I went with an aluminum rather than steel front bumper. However...

DOR bumper == ~140 #'s

+

12K Warn winch == ~150 #'s

====================

~300 #'s

So, I just went into the front end leveling thing with the mindset that with both the DOR bumper and a winch, it would likely sag at least a little, so that if it does sag, I wouldn't freak out over it.

I of course will take careful measurements before and after the bumper installation so I can let everyone know what my actual results turn out to be. Oh, and lots of pictures too :D:D:D

Of course I won't be adding the winch for several months.

One benefit that I haven't seen mentioned about DT's track bar is illustrated by Tom's post. Though the track bar drop brackets will center the axle at one height for less, the DT bar can be adjusted to accomodate a variety of height changes. It allows experimentation without further expense.

Also... it's so polished and pretty! :)
