This is twice in the last 10 to 15K mls that the P0203 code(Injector circuit malfunction cylinder #3) has shut my truck down. Anyone had this problem? How did you fix it? Getting old being towed in. Truck has 170,000mls on it, 07-5. 9.

Replace the injector if that is the problem. It could be ECU to head harness, VC gasket harness or th einjector. You will need to trace out which one it is.

I would ohm it out first and see if it is showing bad. With the wires removed from the injector you should see . 5 ohms with a DVOM that is accurate to . 5 ohms. Less if it is a more accurate meter.

If it reads over 1 ohm its bad. If that is showing good, check the VC harness from the injector to the plug on the side of the VC, that should be at . 5 ohms on all wires also.

PUlled valve cover, injector 1,2&4 showing . 5. #3 showing open circuit. Priced some of the Bosch injetors 505 for 384$, anybody use injectors from rock auto? GB Remanufacturing 240$ each. I also priced the Bosch (75hp gain) for 451$. I tow about 13k lbs camper. Anyboby tow with these injectors? Will my EGT get to hot with the 75hp gain? I have MBRP cat back exhaust.

Buying anything other than Genuine Bosch injectors from a high volume Bosch dealer is a crap shoot. Not many feel good stories there. Even avoid the dealers for injector because their remans are pretty much junk. For my own needs, I would contact TC Diesel and get a set of injectors form him. Best advice I can give on source.

A 75 HP tip is probably not going to be the best without a turbo and other changes. With the weight you are towing I would not go more than 40 HP if at all. A good programmer will be more effective at optimizing the existing power than hard parts like injectors.

+1 on contacting Todd at T&C Diesel. I worked with him on a set for a 04. 5 about a year ago. AT the time Cummins remans were 600. 00 here in Canada and his NEW Bosch were approx 370 with core return IIRC. When I require another set, I will deal with him again.
