Unfortunately this code is not in the DTC Book but it was accompanied by the sudden death warning " This truck will not start after 200 miles unless the DEF system is serviced". Kinda sucks with only 10000 miles on it. Anybody else seen this?

Thanks in advance

I heard of this once before and according to the owner it turned out to be a bad wiring harness.

I did not notice the Eco diesel part from my phone
Deduct any pump supply voltage stuck on is the description Shorts to voltage ,pic, relay wiring and PCM are possible causes.

You will need to see the dealer but this should help.

Theory of Operation

When the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) system is in pressure control mode, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) activates the DEF Supply Pump to refill the lines. As the lines fill, the pressure builds to the set point. When the pressure reaches the set point, the PCM turns on the DEF Injector to bleed air out of the Pressure Line. Each time the injector is turned off, the PCM monitors the amount of time it takes for the pressure to rise back to the set point to determine when all of the air is bled out of the line. The PCM will illuminate the MIL light immediately after the diagnostics runs and fails and diesel exhaust fluid injection into the aftertreatment system is disabled.

When Monitored:
Ignition on, engine running. The PCM is commanding the SCR Relay 1 open.

Set Condition:
The DEF Voltage Supply circuit is determined to still have voltage present for 1 second. This is a two Trip Fault.

Possible Causes

DEF SUPPLY PUMP SUPPLY VOLTAGE CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE
POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER
SCR RELAY 1 CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE

Thanks y'all. It turned out to be a corroded connector behind the headlight causing a short in the DEF control circuit.

Yep.. I tell every owner to Dia-electric every connection on the truck form Head lamps to tail lights, It took Me 6hrs to do this on My ED, I also removed ALL the sound insulation and Pump cover. That foam is goona be a killer for all the connections on the engine that's buried under it, if you live in the salt/chloride belt.

I/we run into wire/connection shorts all the Time. Owners hate paying the $$$$ in some cases finding the wiring problem, But when we mention the solution they rarely put forth the effort to do it.

Yep.. I tell every owner to Dia-electric every connection on the truck form Head lamps to tail lights,

Are you pulling the connection apart and filling every nook and cranny or just the outer part where the wire enters the connector? I thought the di-electric grease would actually prohibit the connectors from making contact if put down into the socket. I tried this on the car battery terminals one time and the car wouldn't start. Once I cleaned the terminals everything was good. Willing to learn something new if I can.

Both side of the harness (Male / Female) and around the grommet, Dia-electric grease transmits energy. something else was up on the NO start. On ground connections you need to be more careful on the contact surfaces. When it comes to small pins use the spray Dia-electric, if you can find it, otherwise just be careful ,Dia-electric grease use far out weigh the risk.

Always use a contact Small hair, synthetic or Flux brush never ... and I mean NEVER use you fingers... or plastic steel brushes...
