DTE and new fuel tank on 05

I replaced the stock tank and now have a 60 gallon fuel tank. After one fill-up and $130 my DTE reads 560. I got over 700 miles to a quarter full on the fuel gauge.



Seems like the computer is learning the new capacity???

If you have the tank vent mod, the computer doesn't know about the extra capacity and that could be screwing up the DTE figure.

Sorry... I must be disflectic(sp?), just didn't read your issue description correctly, see that you have the 60 gal tank... maybe the computer doesn't know about the bigger tank?

Maybe a further clarification is in order:

The DTE used to be around 400 with the stock tank full. Now the computer is listing a higher number. I was told that the computer would always be wrong as it would base its calculation on 36 gallons of fuel. This seems not to be the case.

Additionally:
The fuel gauge float is drowned by about 20 gallons of fuel so it does not move off full for more than 200 miles :-laf
