Questions about a Kubota diesel..I know I know

I was at a AutoZone tonignt...

I scan the DTR ocassionally and I notice alot of members over there that are members here too or that used to be members here, I am wondering what it is that the DTR has that we dont? Alot of these folks have vast amounts of knowlege and used to contribute heavly towards our common love of Cummins?

 Kevin

I personally use both. As they say knowledge is power and the more I can get the better. Doesn't really answer your question though.

I can think of a one thing... . DTR has members that used to be TDR members who were "kicked" out for having heated discussisons. For example, Don Morrison.

Don can get away with some killer stuff over there because he is an advertiser there. There is a huge difference in the mindset between the folks here and there that I notice. I don't post as much on either site as I use to, and I think a lot of others are the same way.

:)

ON EDIT: I just got a PM from Mr. Thorpe who is the lead admin over on DTR, and he tells me that the great "~" is not an advertiser. :)

I don't hesitate to go to DTR when I think about it. Usually when directed to a good discussion or bit of info there.

Otherwise, I spend too much time keeping up with posts here.

Sorry Andrew but Don isn't a advertiser on DTR. He might be soon but as of this moment he isn't.

Clean It Up

We don't bash other sites, advertiser, etc. here. I'm very sorry but I deleted two posts.

PLEASE keep it civil, or I'll have to lock the thread.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

I guess I am different than most because the 35 bucks dont mean squat to me, I have saved that many times over from the knowlede of the fine folks here at the TDR, and I also learn alot from the folks of the DTR too, there are a couple things I dont like about the DTR though.

They need a view new posts tab so you dont have to look at every section.

They are open to other brands of trucks  I am sure that is good for some folk but I aint interested in flowersmokes and maxipads... ... ... ... ... ... ... just me.

Cheers, Kevin

Yeah just think, if not for the TDR, we would all be running around with Banks or Dr. Performance instead of all the fine toys from places like Piers, Enterprise, or MANY of the other places out there. :D

I agree, the 35 bux wasn't a big deal, which is why I joined, before I even own a cummins, which will be soon. However, in the original post, whitmore asked 'I wonder what DTR has that we dont" that stimulates so many posts etc..... I'm simply saying a lot more ppl register and post there because it's free. I like the DTR.

I like the TDR. It seems people here have a pride about the group, have good info, and are respectful. The stickers are cool too, hehee:cool:

I find value in both boards and there are knowledgeable folks at both places.

ok,,,,,,,,,whats the dtr got that we aint. ill post this new post in a 'less harsh' tone so as not to offend stakeman and other dtr moderators. time for the, 'kinder gentler muddy' :-laf

bad policy

the dtr will ban not only you,,,,,,,,,,,,,but,,,,,,,,,,your wife, if ya post bad dealer expieriences where ya describe that the dlr 'stole' from u by not givin u the service u paid for. has happened. why they insist on banning members wives who havent even posted i have no idea. what,,,guilty by association

ok,,,,,,,,,,what else? more bad policy

thall shall not speak anything but good about ALL of dtr's advertisers. to speak negatiive about a product of one of the advertisers will get you publicly demonized by dtr admin. that doesnt happen at tdr.

ok,,,what else. more bad policy. do not question or criticize how the site is run. if so you are publicly chastised by admin. that doesnt happen here

ok,,,,,,,what else,,,,more bad policy. the policy of admin/moderators reading members 'private' messages is totally unaceptable. it's a widespread practice. it has happened to several members. [not just the vtc either] doubt that happens at tdr. i'd bet that it doesnt

what else,,,,,,,,,,policy that ya cant have info in your sig bout where ya got your bombs,,,,,UNLESS it was from an advertiser on the dtr site. heck,,,i cant even thank harold or rip or ken in my sig there.

ok,,,what else does dtr have that we dont. ferds and shivys.

what else? they got gary:-laf

ok,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i can go on and on,,,,,,,,,,butt,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

im tryin not to be so harsh,,,,,,,,,,,,so,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i will say some positive things bout dtr

free. yep. jack did do a great job on the site. thanks jack. he started the site as a free alternative to the tdr. stated he didnt like censorship:rolleyes: [course that has changed now] stated it was an advertising project for his company. was small then but has turned into a sucessfull site with big membership numbers. my post may seem negative but i say what i think

summary: well,,,,,,,,,,,35 bucks is nuthin compared to what ya get from the tdr. website, magazine, great members and great friends who participate on the tdr. for the most part incredibly knowledgeable folks who love to share knowledge and have fun. as to dtr,,,,,,well,,,,,much of the same people there too. just misguided policy and instead of 35 bucks membership fee their main operating expense is from advertisers including dc dlrs. therefore making it mandatory for admin to insist on ya being silent with your opinions if it isnt complimentary to advertisers of dtr. all in all,,,,,,,,,,,both great sites. just that the tdr is much superior

oh,,,,,,,,,btw,,,,,,,,,,,thanks for bringin this up kevin:)

now,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,whered i lay that flame suit again :D
