DTT gets a big NM welcome (ripped off)

Bill K. detoured about 350 mi out of route to stop by and personally deliver and replace my proto type Pac Brake controller and install the new production unit. He arrived 2-19 PM in Albuquerque. 2-20 when he left the motel he discovered that his truck had been broken into. Stolen was a one of DTT jacket, briefcase with stuff from the Dallas show, stereo, CD's, electronic components (mine included),cell phone chargers and more. After a 1/2 day spent getting a new sterio, and replacing other basic travel items he then proceeded to check my truck, said it was ok but not perfect. Instead of installing the ripped off brake controller unit he dropped the pan, replace a governor solenoid, replaced a shift control spring, adj. bands, this he did at no charge when he could have been on his way home. When was the last time one of the other vendors made a house call serviced a trans at no charge. ????????????? I took him to a good Mexican resturaunt where every one got a good meal cept Bill, he did not get what he ordered. A fitting New Mexico end to a New Mexico visit. Our appologies Bill and thanks.

It's really sad it happened. At the transmission seminar in Dallas Bill came to the trailer and he talked about how honest everyone seemed to be down here. RE:a guy making and paying for my campsite and we never met before that.

Yeah, I got the email about that happening from Clint. Bill's a great guy and I hate it that something like that happened. If it's any consolation, I just bought another automatic and as soon as I recover some of the money from purchaseing the truck, I'll definitly be ordering the valve body and torque converter!
