Love the trans - getting ready to drop a little bomb soon.

Just a question - the 1 - 2 shift comes in @ about 8 mph. I was told to get the reflash to take care of this. The TSB I was given was 18-02-99. After looking at the TSB it doesn't mention anything about the 1 - 2 shift point.

The TSB mainly talks about the electrical noise and TC lock up. I've addrerssed this issue with the DTT noise filter long before the rebuild and it hasn't been nor is it presently an issue.

However, the early 1 - 2 shift is becoming an annoyance mostly when chugging along in traffic - it'll hunt between 1st & 2nd.

I know I have a direct line with DTT and they are very customer service oriented and friendly - I just wondered if anyone has experienced this or, knows if the TSB # I have is not the correct one.

Thanks

The tsb# is unimportant... ... ... If you flash the pcm it will be the latest version available and will have previous upgrades as well the most current. There is no pick and choose with the D/C flashes.

DTT WOW! Talk about customer service

I just received a call from Bill K @ DTT regarding my post. Talk about customer service! :--) I was merely trying to see what other folks had experienced and if the TSB # mattered.

I can't say enough about my contacts with everyone involved w/DTT, from Tim in Va. Beach, to Bill K. they are all top notch!

I can say this "if more outfits/businesses had 1/2 of the customer service DTT does, this country would be a better place". I'm sure there are plenty of businesses that are like DTT but, you just don't run in to them as much as you should.

I'm not trying to start a war or anything but, I highly recommend considering DTT for your transmission needs. Do the research and the rest is up to you.

One of the best advertisements is customer feed back and for all considering/needing transmission work . . . you just got my $0. 02. Oo. :D

Bill K. has always treated me right. Glad to hear you're happy too. Inquiring minds want to know... What was the resolution?

I put a Goerend converter and v/b in my 01 and it was doing the same thing, hunting between 1st and 2nd at low speeds. Called Dave and he sent me another 1-2 shift solenoid. Replaced it and it works perfect now. Dave also has excellent customer service. When I was installing the v/b and converter he gave me his home phone # and told me to call him if I had any problems and that was on a holiday weekend.

Just got back from having re-flash done. At moderate throttle it shifts 1-2 about 16-20mph. It's different than the 8-10 probably just needs getting used to it. I'll check the cabel play and see what that yeilds. In the mean time I've got ball joints to replace - oh, joy of life.

Yes, the reflash fixed the early 1-2 shift. No, my truck is long past 5yr - 100k warranty, see sig 99 and the clock reads 140,789. So, as we say here on the TDR "I am my own warranty station" ;) . The question you probably want to know the answer to also is: the flash cost $49. 00 + tax and I waited only 1 hour. I consider it fortunate that that wait was only 1 hour and, it pays to call and ask the price. I was quoted $49. 00 for the flash on the phone and when I arrived the Service Writer wrote $98. 00. I told her I was quoted $49. 00 by Chris and he happened to be right there at the counter and told her to change it to $49 as it was just a flash.

Well, I guess it's not going to rain so I better get out to the ball joints that are call my name - fun, fun, fun. Of course, you know I'll get knee deep in the job than it will pour . . . wish me luck.

Sorry to say this but ask Bill about the Torque converters he sold about 4 years ago when he told everyone they were using the wrong type of front seal and I found the inside shoulder was 1/10 of an inch to tall because of a MFG mistake. Grant it that I was able to overcome this buy having the pump housing trimmed back and reset the seal in deeper by the same 1/10 inch then all was well. The trans was great until I made more power than the shafts could hold then I was unable to get a strait answer of the cost for a upgrade to billet shafts I already had the shift kit and converter with the deep pan and all other goodies that were available when I had it built. Then I was also unable to get a guaranty time frame on the trans and had problems when my shop had to change out the output shaft because I broke it at the track there was a big problem between the shop and Bills Co :-{} which left me the paying customer in the middle with no help from DTT. :--)

DTT customer service changes some after they install a cpl faulty t/c & rebuild your transmission twice in less than 3months.
