Does anybody have this on their truck yet?

Ive been thinking of upgrading and it looks like a great piece, plus I like the way stainless holds up as well.

thanks guys

WELL, since we've already created yet another DTT SS intake thread, I might also point out that Stefan Kondolay doesn't just provide a smooth arc in that intake, but also "tilts" the arc to perfectly match the OEM boot and connector from the intercooler - no "forcing" or even a slight deformity in the connecting junction:

Pretty neat, eh? :-laf

OH - and for the originator of this thread, here's a pic of the DTT SS intake as installed on a 12 valver:

A bit more cluttered than on a 24 valve - but gets the same job done! ;):-laf

You DID try the "search" feature on this board, right? :-laf

There are several related threads already running - pics and everything... ;)

Here's just ONE sample:

And here's a pic of mine:

NOW, about that search feature...

Not to sound like a jerk, but I did do a search feature and I have yet to find one with someone posting their results for a 12 valve. And again not to sound like a smart *** but that is the reason I posted it in the 12 valve engine and transmission.

Just like all the other aftermarket intake horns.....

Look good, add little in performance and great to lighten your wallet.

Intake horns are a desired taste deal,if you see on you like buy it and install it,but remember gains for money spent will be minimal if any... ... Andy

Some of the dyno tests have been impressive in what they do considering they are simple and don't add any fuel.

Dunno what you mean by "results" - you didn't ask for any in the first post, only this:

- and the pic I posted of the 12 valve install was from a thread already running on this board related to an install on a 12 valve truck - actually, there are at least *2* such threads - one is HERE:

https://www.turbodieselregister.com...2-valve-intake-plenum-w-grid-delete-done.html

As to any performance gains, so far, all I've seen with the DTT on 2nd generation trucks are missing a decent W/WO grid delete comparison - and what HAVE been posted here on TDR are also included in previous DTT intake threads - I'd like to see a detailed before/after on a 2nd generation truck too, and one that includes testing W/WO the grid delete. I obviously have the grid-delete adapter on mine - and it SEEMS like it should be beneficial power-wise, but no real info as to how much, and guys (like ME) living in colder winter climate areas might not gain enough summer power to offset the lack of grid heaters in the winter.

Sorry that you bristle at my "search" comments - but fact is, this board is CONSTANTLY barraged by repititious requests on subjects already thoroughly covered again and again, from guys - and forgive my bluntness here - either too ignorant, or too lazy to find stuff for themselves - and instead, simply type a few lines, and sit back, waiting for others do do the searching FOR them - and then we end up - like this time, with yet another thread on the same subject already covered many times before...

Obviously, in this case, the info WAS out there, and easily located by any who invest the time to locate it. I fully realize there is no way you are likely to not take my comments personally - and obviously, they do apply here, as well as in other similar cases by other posters - but I was not attempting to be abusive to you specifically, but rather, to point up - again - that lots of answers to questions are easily available by simply and easily SEARCHING for it - and lots of repeat traffic can be avoided if guys would use their own keyboards, rather than expecting others to do it for them.

Again, apologies for ruffled feathers - and I hope you will accept and recognize at least to a small degree where I am coming from.

Peace...

Gary apologizing for ruffling feathers... .

I better batten down the hatches, there is a storm brewing and incoming:-laf:-laf.

Seriously,,

I agree with you on the repetitive posts and it seems like they are happening more and more... ... ... ... Andy

I like the stainless smooth inside wall tube better than any casting replacement. It look so good it has to be better :-laf

Here's mine...

I installed a DTT stainless intake horn and heater grid delete week before last and I like the improvement. I know this is a subjective test result, but the truck is noticeably easier to build boost with when drag racing. This test was done from one friday night to the next at the same track, with the only change being the intake horn and heater grid delete. Which of those two had the most effect, I don't know. This was on my 05.

Oh, yeah... It does look nice too!

Come on Gary :-laf you love it... ... ... ... ... .

That's why you have 10k post

I've said it before - post counts are pretty meaningless - and usually, as here, only become the focus and tool of off topic comment, and sometimes, insult.

As far as I'm concerned, the board operators can set my own count back to zero anytime they want... ;)

Try going to a "ricer" board and asking a question that you haven't searched IN DEPTH for the answer... . WOW

NO Mercy... I mean NONE.

I try to search myself but sometimes the term isn't long enough and it just doesn't come up right.

I searched for something for ages on one of the "other" sites... ...

Couldn't find it then posted a new thread... only to get hammered on for not searching.....

I had misspelled it in all my searches :eek::eek:

Oh well nice intake... I'd go $100 on it :-laf

The only thing about it... . it looks like (if I could weld stainless) I could make it myself.

Hmmmmmm I wonder what the flow is with rusty carbon steel???????

KO

Probably would work well in steel - could be painted or powder coated to look neat - the trick would be to locate or fabricate the tubing bend sections in Mandrel-bent form for best flow...

Please pardon my bluntness here as I'm not trying to push anyone's Hot Button. .

I would just like to know since you guys/gals have been running aftermarket intakes for a while now. . Do you see any clear MPG/Performance improvement?

Thanks. .
