Oo. Get my trannie done on Wensday. I can't wait any longer. Ordered the works except the output shaft. Should I just spend the cash and get it done now? Scott at MassDiesel says I don't need this done.

Whats next guys? I'm thinging stacking the TST with a pup w/ crazy larry or edge. Some say Ramifier.

Congrats your gonna love it. Now you might not need the billet output shaft, but are you going to want it? Look at my sig for my answer to that, and I just had the transmission done in May. I doubt it's a "need" for me either but I would like to try a few 4wd launches and I'm too chicken **** afraid that output shaft is going to leave me on the side of the road. Greg at greatlakesdieselworks has several fine examples of trashed output shafts on his bench.

If you are not sure where you want to end up power wise, do the shaft now and be confident.

You picked the best, you CAN trust them.

Are you telling Scot about the power mods you may use?

Yes Scott has a sheet info about all the mods you've done a will do in the near future. When I drop it off I'll ask again. He two has a bench of output shafts. Pretty sure he doesn't want to add to the pile. I also explained to him I usually leave more fuel(smoke) and pieces of my tire at stop lights than my wife would like.

Oh yeah tire chunks, and black clouds are a sure sign you need the billet output. :-laf

Im going to have mine done sometime this winter.

Get the output sahft it will save you from experiencing that sickening feeling you will get one day blasting off from a stoplight and hearing the most god awfull sounds coming from your truck with the resultant loss of forward motion, tow bill, down time, cost and whatever. Do it right the first time.

You are going to love your truck. I really was dumbfounded by the difference. I would not trade mine for anything now!!!!

Brad

PS. get all the shafts if you can afford them!!!

I'm looking at DTT web site. They have the wording listed as

All DTT's Performance Transmission are built with the highest quality parts, both internal and external. We have modified these transmissions to accommodate the power that the Cummins produces. Here are some of the components that separate DTT from the rest.

And MassDiesel has his listed as

DTT complete Trans

But they are removing my trans and rebuilding it with new parts. That doesn't seem to me to be a complete trans. Valve body is another charge, that's not complete. When I first read the web site I believed I was getting a new trans that was all set to go and I could keep the old to install later if I sold the truck. Should it read we will modify your trans to accommodate the power? Seems to be alot of money for a rebuild.

I'm getting the shafts which that cost makes sense. So do I get to keep all the internal parts they remove?

Yes I'm getting cold feet.

all that will be replaced in your transmission depends on what you do, if you get the updated 3rd gear drum then your old one comes out, stock shafts come out, accumlator piston and front servo and thats about it. everything else minus the clutches and steels gets reused. u get new seals, whatever updated parts you bought, updated clutch packs and maybe steels(not sure). scott did my first rebuild, took about 12 hrs to complete on the road driving (a lot of tuning on a 12v) u wont regret it. plus what is the dif if scott builds it right there where you can see it or if you get one shipped from canada. this way you save on shipping. they will have the same parts and are build the same.
