Hi All,
My DTT transmission has recently started to have some rough shifts from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd.
I figured it was overdue for a fluid change, so I drained the pan and converter overnight. I then followed the procedures in the service manual (as best I could) for adjusting the front and rear bands. After the bands were adjusted, I filled it up with Valvoline ATF +3 fluid.
Well... the shifting problems didn't go away.
On the 1st to 2nd shift, it will almost seem like it hunts and it shudders/bucks when shifting under light go pedal. If I just let the truck idle and take my foot off the brake, it starts surging when it gets to the 2nd gear shift (vroom, vroom, vroom). If I put my foot into it, it doesn't feel exactly right, but it's not as noticeable.
The 2nd to 3rd gear shifting seems to hunt/shudder some too, but not as bad.
Any ideas ? I'm pretty sure I got bands correct, but it still does what it did before my change.
Thanks,
--Phil
