when purchasing a DTT transmission is it better to buy direct or work thru a local rebuilder/dealer. what are everyones experiances.

I bought my right from DTT. You'll pay about $500. 00 in shipping due to Canada to you. Then your core back to them. . There very nice and will take care of you. . But everything comes by truck. . so about two weeks to build, a week or two to ship. It could take as long as 4 weeks or more depending on what your getting. I love mine!!

Just remember to drink anything with a lid on it! (;

Mines being built by a local builder in Angola IN. as we speak... .

Well its on hold at the moment waiting for my TC and VB to show up. :( I really want to pick it up wensday night. :{

But to ship the trans to you will be 300 and then another 300 to ship it back. I paid 186 in shipping all together to just ship the parts to the builder, but then you have to pay the builder aprox. $500 to R&R the trans plus fluid aprox $70.

Hey CNichols

I was wondering if anyone in this area was with DTT. You say Angola IN area??

W hat is the name of the shop and where is it at ???

Dirk

thanks guys, looks like I will be having my local dealer do the build and install.

I can't wait to finally be able to bomb the old truck. any suggestions

Yes the builder is in Angola. It basicly (from what i gather) a former trans guy that trained with Bill for a long time on how he wants the transmissions built. He does them out of his big garage next to his house. I was kind of worried at first leaving my truck with someone at there house and not a "shop", but after talking with this guy he knows his stuff.

Edit: I had to set up my appointment with the builder through DTT them selfs. So you will have to call the shop 866-504-4002 and speak with them about a builder.

JFigura, Floor It Diesel Performance in Lawrence kansas did my DTT. I highly recommend him. What year is your truck and what do you plan on doing with it? Do you tow heavy? I just dynoed 467hp and 998 foot pounds of torque with what is in my signature and I may have some more hp left once I get some wastegate issues straightened out and get a little more air. I can tow my 3 horse slant load with no EGT issues as long as I leave the box turned down. There is also another DTT installer down the road from St. Louis but John is very well known and respected among certain crowds. He has went above and beyond the call of duty in taking care of my truck.

Truck is a 1999 3500 24v 4wd. I tow 12,000 lbs about 100miles a month. I was thinking about a edge comp box, magnaflow exhaust and a FASS system just wondering how much differance this will make. Am I going to really feel this. Bill at DTT recommended a dealer in my area to do the rebuild and install so I guess that is what I will do since they all have to ne trained by him.
