Got my transmission done today at TRE diesel by Tim Barber. I should of done it a long time ago. It is a whole new truck. Tim was a great person to work with and the product is top notch. Now for those injectors on Wendsday!!

No doubt. Wendsday I am hoping he will take me for a ride in his two rigs. After that I'm sure things will start going downhill :D
 
Let me know what you think of the F-1's. We have similar trucks and I would like to add injectors to mine. Worried about EGT's then having to invest in a turbo, mpg ect... I want to be able to pull without having to look at the pyrometer to see if I'm going to burn it down. That one reason I like my Banks kit, because several of my buddies have other systems, that run as well or better than mine, but they have more problems with theirs too. Its all about drivability.
 
Last night on my way back to maryland my overhead computer said I was getting anywhere from 22. 5 to 24. 5 mpg. Thats a couple over the same drive I made a few days earlier with just the transmission done. I had my cruise set at 53mph which in my truck is actually around 60. I used to average 14. 5 with the stock transmission and banks powerpack. I do mostly city driving. But on the highway it would read around 17 to 18. Now my average is around 17 to 18, and I pretty much drive with the pedal down around town.

That being said the injectors are great, the truck performs like it was supposed to. Not much smoke unless you floor it right off the line then as soon as boost builds up it clears up. The power is increadible coupled with the transmission. I should of done it years ago. I would highly recommend F1 1. 6's

Last night I did a run from a dead stand still and floored it to about 80 on my speedo. The highest egt I saw was 1250. Thats how hot it would get before with just the banks. It also took awhile to get there, it just slowly crept up.

I think that has alot to do with the banks. I think it is constantly defueling. Thats why I want to get a different box. I like the idea of the hot juice with attitude because it will fuel to 3400 and you can set at what temp you want to start defueling.

What kind of problems do your buddies have? Is there an egt problem?
 
RConnor - Tim did my trans also, last summer, has been so sweet with the Comp (tapped) and 1/6s. Just wish I would have gone to 4's off the bat. Tim's a great guy, very knowledgable and easy going.

How are your egts with the comp. I did not see a larger turbo in your sig. I probably should of done the same thing with the mach 4's.
 
I've only got the 1. 6s, comp and stock turbo - yes the EGTs do get rather high quickly. I regularly see 1200+ for short periods if I'm deep in the go pedal @ 3-3 through 4-3. After 4-4 through 5-5 I've seen 1400+ but I back out and it quickly cools down. Just being patient saving for the 4s and HBT2/14 (of course from Tim, he made me a great deal) it's hard to be patient but I must for now. I usually run around in 1-5 or 2-5 as it performs well enough for most instances.

I am in ocean city maryland. We should get together sometime. I would like to personally feel what the edge does before I waste any money, if it is no better than the banks.
 
Welcome to the club :D It's funny how it makes you "feel" the power and want more and more and more... . thinking of adding a smarty to my mix, but have to dyno first to see where I'm at. Congrats again and anything from F-1 is top notch :)
