Just before we left on a long road trip with the 5'er I had the transmission rebuilt (3rd time) with the DTT triple disc. I noticed that when the transmission shifts from 3rd gear (direct) to 3rd gear lockup it locks up with a jolt that rattles your brain.
The same thing happens when it changes into overdrive but I can control that by first turning off O/D, accelerating to 2300-2500 rpm, switch the O/D back on and as I do so just lift off of the accelerator. It goes in real smooth.
Apart from the severe jolt I feel, I am concerned that something will break -like an input or output shaft.
Does anyone have a suggestion for controlling the 3rd gear lock up? Is there any adjustment in the valve body for this?
