Bill,

Do I understand correctly that the hunting I'm experiencing at 35 and 45 mph under light throttle is somewhat normal (and acceptable)? I don't drive under those conditions often, so it's not too annoying. I just want to make sure I don't have a trans. problem I should be worrying about. My truck and trans. are all stock.

Thanks,
Dave

Dave,

What Mopar and Jack are experiencing is hydraulic related. Governor pressure and throttle pressure are equalized at the speed at which they are driving.

One wishes to change it to an earlier point and one to a later point,

At light throttle these adjustments are done on the vb, at wide open throttle the adjustment is done on the kickdown cable or vb.

The symptoms you are describing are electrical. I am guessing the tc clutch is what is comming in and out in yours. The vehicle speed and the tps dictate when the lock up clutch will engage or dis-engage.
There are several tsb's on this subject , check out Dave Fritz's website.

I would read through and find out the one that best describes your symptoms.

Download two of the ones you think best describes what you are experiencing and take them in with you to the dealer as they can re-flash the pcm or they can also try examining your tps.

Thanks, Bill.
I've already been on Fritz's site, and some are close, but not exact. I have to take it in again for another (4th?) replacement console box under warranty, so I'll have them check it out then. Thanks for confirming that it isn't normal.
