DTT valve body

How difficult is it to install a DTT valve body? Not being to mechanically inclined. I eventually want to get the complete upgrade including the Torque Converter but $$ is the issue now. Also, will just getting the valve body make a noticeable difference in transmission performance? Thanks for any input.

VB Install

I just installed my DTT VB and it was not hard to do. The instructions included are very good and more help is only a phone call away as Bill and crew provide great customer support.



As I said, I have just the VB for now. The shifts are firm and makes the truck much more fun to drive, especially with a PE comp.

If your mechanically inclined it isnt to difficult,you keep everything super clean,and carefully torque the VB bolts,not overtorque,this can warp the BV or pull threads from the case. The only problems i can forsee is if it needs fine tuning.

Which VB did you get. Livestock, Towing or Hot Rod? and why.

I got the towing VB. I do not race the truck like some others do but I do tow a 30' TT. btw, the towing VB makes it real fun on the street when empty. If you tow livestock, I understand the shifts are not quite so hard so it doesn't knock the animals off their feet (or hoofs).
