Well, I just installed a DTT vb and just wanted to say WOW! The install went fairly easy and the end results are amazing. The best part of it was the support I received from the guys at DTT. Their customer support is 2nd to none. I will be promoting their products to everyone I know.

Bill and Stefan (hope I spelled it right) thanks alot!!!

Hey! Why'd ya leave out poor ol' Darin... after all, he's the one who makes up the performance valve bodies. Seriously, they're all TOPS in my book! #ad

rmk, now you need to purchase one of DTT's trick torque converters... they're AWESOME! #ad
BTW, you spelled Stefan's name correctly.

What kind of difference did it make in it?
Shift firmness?
Shift points?

Adam, DTT custom tailors each VB based on a customer provided profile (through an interview with DTT) of their Ram and its intended purpose, the owners driving habits, any power enhancements, gear ratio, tire size etc. This is NOT an off the rack kind of deal. DTT offers three basic VB configurations, 1) "Livestock" (smooth but firm shifting... NOT earth shaking though), 2) "Medium" (firmer shifting) and 3) "Firm" (when the Tim Allen in you says this is the ONLY way to go! #ad
). Light throttle shift points (1-2 and 2-3 shifts) can be adjusted within the VB when being customed tuned to your specifications and/or tweaked after installation (trans. pan removal is required after VB installation though). Full throttle shift points are adjusted externally by either DTT (if you have them perform the installation) or yourself via the installation instructions provided with your ordered VB.

MOST of DTT's customers choose their 91% efficiency TC although, they also offer 89% and 93% TCs. After having driven both the 91% and 93% TCs, I would have to concur with Bill, the 91% TC is close to perfect (for most), the 93% TC is somewhat harsher due to increased efficiency. I personally elected to go with the 93% TC knowing full well what all the drawbacks were. Personally I'm still glad I made the decision I did. #ad

Thanks DTT I'm still extremely happy with my enhanced transmission... and mine was FULLY modified before I came to you!

Also include increased line pressure. What does this all add up to. Exactly what Bill says, the power gets to the ground where it needs to be, not eaten up by the transmission.
Instance power when you touch the pedal. No slippage, and the motor doesn't spin up, then move the truck. It just goes.

Seriously, the VB is one half of the best transmission package out there, period.

I concur with the other comments about how great the DTT parts feel. Just installed the VB and converter last night and it is "impressive". I will make a full report sometime this weekend.

Hi guys,

I just received my VB and 91% convertor in the mail today. Plan on doing the install the last week of march. Any problems to watch out for?? Anyone have trouble removing the vacuum switch connector with those brittle plastic vacuum lines?? Thanks for any advice you can give me.

I bought a BD t/c and v/b and now they tell me I need a pressure loc to further increase the line pressure. Do do they (DTT) recommend any further enhacements, especially if you plan to use an ebrake? And then I need a tork converter lock-up controller! Where does it end? ca-ching ca-ching!

arar, DTT specifically recomends against using an exhaust brake at all unless you absolutly have to and if you don't have an e-brake they say a lock up switch is a BIG no no. As far as just running it, no they don't require any more added on enhancements besides the valve body and torqueconverter. The difference between lockup and unlocked on their set up is so slight, you won't be having that hankering to keep the converter locked.

arar, Bill Kondolay does NOT recommend the use of a BD PressureLoc with his TC/VB package. If one is towing REALLY heavy loads, has an exhaust brake, and has added the DTT Smart Controller to properly control same, you might also want to add the 4. 2:1 ratio apply lever (to replace the OE 3. 8:1 counterpart).
