anyone ever heard of one being made? i'm sorry, 4" pipe looks too wimpy now :-laf i have plenty of room to put another 5" tailpipe on the left side, though i haven't looked at doing the y section or any of that.

btw, can you dual 4 inchers with mufflers hear the exhaust pretty good out of the left side of the truck?

just curious.

Tom

I have the silverline 4 inch duals on my 3rd gen. It was too loud and I had to add a magaflow muffler. It sounds sweet now. I have some pics on my gallery.

I have home made dual exhaust on my 98 ctd, comes out behind the wheels with a straight thru 4 inch muffler I think it sounds awesome. I had dual 4inch with a straight pipe on my last ctd and it was cool too but the drone at around 70 mph was just too loud to be comfortable. 5 inch should sound way cool let us know.

i have a straight 5" right now with a turndown tip. i like it, but was just curious to how a dual 5" would look and sound. it stinks that the mufflered systems you can't hear in the truck or with the windows down (depending on the muffler of course). i haven't been in a truck with duals either. i love the 5" straight, but it does get a bit annoying towing or when i'm in a bad mood.

wait, is jhyatt from washington with a silver 3rd gen (a truck i've seen on BD's website)?

Tom

I have 4" duels with 5" Megaflow tips straight out the back. See picturs in readers rigs, go to user links. They have a nice deep sound. Made by Rip Rook.

I love mine

I have dual 5's with 6" tips on mine and I love. Mine is straight piped and split right after the axle. If you tow or run more 75mph alot I would not do it. It gets really loud towing but for normal driving I love it and its the best for blowing smoke on import's they can get away from it coming out both sides

Nope JHyatt is that guy you talked to @ the seefood challenge with the white 3500 (Besides Mine , Marks , and the standard cab one)

oh yeah, the former-dual stack setup.

TJSHOTROD- how and where did you do the Y or split for the exhaust? what about room under the bed? could you hear the sound out of the left pipe with the windows down if it had a truck muffler on it?

98rammer

I used a y pipe just past the axle to split it. Mine would not work if you want to keep the spare but since I run 37" tires iI had no use for mine. I never had a muffler on my set-up but I would think you would still hear it.

Tom...

I can attest to how Proram's 5" dual sounds out the back,LOL. When he had the twin chargers on the truck we were going to a local Mopar show at a Dodge dealer and he was screwing around with a fool in a Ford Ranger(I think he was trying to impress his stunning girlfriend). Anyway,I am in back of him stereo and XM on,and he twists her hard, dumps the throttle and leaves me in a cloud of soot and scares the crap out of the guy with the Phord. When he did this I could hear the chargers begging for mercy over top of my stereo and just laughed my rear off(even the hot number in the Ranger liked the smoke show,LOL). His duals allowed you to listen to the chargers unspooling after he parked the truck even. I'd actually say they were more mellow than the 4" he used to have and gave a deeper tone to the truck. They are a nice set of tubes... ... ... Andy

we'll, i'm gonna do it. i've got the donaldson M090535 muffler on order. have to take a trip to berubes and get some elbows. i may put 6" tips on, but i'm picky about that.

https://www.turbodieselregister.com/user_gallery/sizeimage.php?&photoid=17758&width=0 that's the truck on BD dyno days picture galleries that i was talking about. . the tips don't look right though.

pwerwagn, proram did a real nice job with fabrication, but i don't like the way they curve up and back down though (just opinion, i'm not flaming him). i'm going to have the left one look like the right one, spaced off enough so that i can still keep the spare tire on.
