Dual battery jump starts

Had a chance to jumpstart a co-workers car tonight, but someone beat me to it. Then I realized I didn't know what battery to hook to on my truck. Does it matter whether using the driver side or passenger side battery to start someone elses car? I know about hooking up in the proper procedure to insure proper grounding, but what battery? What if my truck is dead and needs a jump? Which battery then? The owners manual was too generic to specify which battery to use. It was all about the safety stuff using remote battery starts.

it really doesn't matter. the batteries are connected in parallel.
