A month or so back, I came across a thread concerning noisy dual by-pass oil filter kits. I can't find it now.

I was thinking about installing the Amsoil dual by-pass oil filter set-up, until I came acrossed the thread. Are they really that noisy?, especially on a 2nd Gen. Did anyone figure out why some made more noise tha others?

I would appreciate feedback from those running these or similar dual set-ups.

I am also looking for information on CPFF's kits. Did they work on 2nd Gens? Still available?

Thanks,

Troy

I have a single bypass and yes it does make noise if you listen for it. Truck is so loud anyways, whats the difference. CPFF does still have the kits (last I checked). Great family to deal with, his wife sent me a seal kit on the friday I called because they were leaving town. I got the seal kit much faster then if they had to wait for my check to clear. He has an excellent battery mount kit as well, I use it for my single by-pass unit.

I second the info on CPFF and his service. I too use the battery box mount his makes for my single by pass.

I have no noise with my single by pass, but had ALOT of noise and lower oil PSI with the dual by pass. The sound is just like a power steering pump low on fluid.

I have had no issues with my single by pass however.

ps I have a amsoil dual by pass, CPFF hose kit and billet adaptor, with about 1000miles on all that I am looking to unload. All you would need is a full flow and by pass spin on filters. PM me if anyone is interested.

When I had the dual filter bypass on my 02 I couldn't tell over the engine. Might have had something todo with mounting too. Mine was under the radiator mounted horizontal. For more info on dual filter kits you can check the websites in my sig.
