Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Dual disc clutch release issue

I have had a worsening issue with my clutch not disengaging. It started by being more difficult than normal to get into gear when stopped. Rolling through the gears while driving was easy but I tend to match speeds anyway. It got to the point when I was sitting still with it in gear and the clutch pressed in it would keep pulling forward. Not cool. I thought it might have been the hydraulics so I adjusted the rod longer by about 3/4 of an inch. Absolutely no change. I made the tool to manually disengage the clutch per Valair's directions and it still wouldn't go in gear. After pulling the transmission to inspect the clutch I discovered that 3 of the 4 levers and eye bolt nuts were loose. Can these just be tightened back down or do they have to be set up in a special way?
