No they don't. But I want to get em anyways. They're just for cosmetics and sound. You can also smoke the competition not only from the passenger side but also the driver's side too. I heard they may reduce back pressure which is bad. But those name brand company's probably worked that out.

I'm trying to decide between MBRP Cool Duals, Silverline, Magnaflow Duals or Banks Monster Duals. I'm leaning towards Banks. I want the loudest, deepest, throatiest sounding one. I've only heard the Magnaflow Duals on a Dodge Hemi. Sounded like a beast. But of course that's a gasser.

Forgot to mention that you may also not be able to put on a bigger spare under the bed. Anybody know what's the biggest size you can go under there?

There is a BFG 315 under mine, looks like a real 35" tire will fit. That is probably as big as it will hold.

Will dual exhaust reduce back pressure? Yes, depending on the muffler(s), if any, and plumbing.

Will dual exhaust hurt our turbo'd engines? NO.

The turbo creates plenty of back pressure. It is only a problem for naturally aspirated engines, not ones that are turbocharged. After the turbo, you want to get the exhaust out, with as few restrictions as possible.

bmoeller -- I agree. This notion about back pressure causing improved exhaust scavenging and thus, more efficiency doesn't work for me. The antithesis is that less back pressure will make things less efficient. I don't buy it. All the dragsters I see have pipes coming straight out of the heads. Even the Cummins Dragster that runs on biodiesel just has a short pipe after the turbo. If back pressure were good, they'd have back pressure.

Not to mention, more backpressure also causes higher EGTs, more pumping losses (higher drive pressure), more stress on headgaskets (boss blew his headgaskets on his 350 Vortec from a plugged cat), lower MPG, more turbo lag ( less throttle responce, reduces power, higher emissions, ... ... ... ... .

The newer trucks must be wider in the frame area or something. I have a 265/75r16 under mine and just to say it fits.
