I recently got an '05 3500 DRW. I would really like to run dual exhaust on it. Calls to ANSA Silverline and Diamond Eye were enlightening. Diamond Eye has a 5" pipe to 4" outlets, but he could not promise the clearance I need. I have PACBrake Airbags and I also have the B&W Turnover Ball hitch. He did tell me that the 4" pipe exhaust system (K4237 series) will clear the bags easily and that I should not have any issues with the hitch mount as I am 4x4.

Does anyone out there have real-world experience in this? I would REALLY like to run the duals ( I think I might have already mentioned that :-laf), but don't want to plunk down the CA$H and cut my exhaust off only to find out the hard way that it won't work or won't work without heavy modifications.

Anyone have any experience on these specific systems in this siutation?

Please disregard the signature block - I need to update it.

Thanks in advance!

I ran MBRP cool duals on my 06 2500 and had some minor clearance issues with the drivers side getting rubbed. I finally put some time into positioning and tightening with the strap type clamps and it held very well after that with no issues.

I had the Banks dual kit on my 05 4x4 ended up hating it. always rubbed the spare and hit the hellwig anti sway bar. Finally the Y pipe cracked and I was able to get the parts from Banks to make it a single pipe kit. One thing I did't expect with the single kit is how quiet the cab is now. And with out the wielded on tips I was able to move the tip out far enough to keep some of the soot off my bumper.

All good valid points. Last truck had 5" from the turbo back with just an Aeroturbine. Loved the sound. Just like the looks of the duals on these trucks. Diamond Eye tells me that their 4" kit will clear my hitch and the PACBrake Airbags I have off the old truck, but I was just looking for real world experience. Not that there aren't good folks supplying after morket stuff to us, but they are trying to sell a product after all...

Anyone else?

I have the Silver line on the truck in the signature below. I have the BW hitch and air bags. The air bags are not an issue, but the cross over pipe hits the ball sleeve of the BW hitch. I had to take that section off and heat and beat the top side of it so that it was about 2 1/2" high instead of the 4" at the spot of the hitch so that it wouldn't hit. The only time it hit is when you shut the truck off and the motor does it's few dying kicks of compression. I also had to use a small ratchet strap on the spare tire and pull it all the way back against the rear hitch while I cranked it up so that it wouldn't rub on the passenger side tail pipe. This is about three years old now, so I don't know if they have made any changes in the bends for this reason. When I had called them before I ordered mine they said that they had tested it and the guy went to check with there research department to check and they said it would clear.

I've also got the Road master 1 3/8" dia. swaybar and there is no issue there.

mpaulson - thanks for the feedback - exactly the information I was looking for to make a decision. I was very happy with my 5" Flo Pro set up on my last truck running the Aeroturbine, so I guess I will run that set up again on this truck (yeah, yeah - anything over 4" is overkill, but I loved the sound and the attention when folks saw the 7" tip poking out from under the rear end). Running the duals looks to be a PITA. Especially may be an issue with the spare if I make the planned switch to 19. 5's in the future...

DZinger. I have a 4" downtube to a 5" FTE Diesel 30" resonator then 5" to a MBRP muffler then out rt side in 6" tip. Im just down 94 if you want to hear the combo

Had the Banks Monster Duals on my 07 5. 9 Mega Cab dually and have it on my 04. 5 QC. Love the sound, tips and the fact it's a dual setup. I hate the fact that it doesn't line up worth a damn. I messed with the MC for hours and finally said good enough. Thought I would give Banks some more money and a second chance and this system is the same. Once again I love the sound and tips but the alignment was a pain. I expected more from Banks and won't be spending anymore money on their products until some QA/QC improvements are made. My . 02 cents for what its worth.
