Those of you with dual tanks--any problems with tee-ing into the supply line from the auxiliary tank? I am putting a saddle tank under the passenger side of my aluminum flatbed in the spot a tool box would go. I plan to tie into the supply line from the main tank and drain the two at the same time. Both hold about the same amount but if one empties before the other would air intake be an issue or..... ??? Thanks in advance. geusterman

You will never get the return line to flow the same as the supply. I don't think that setup will work that well, being able to use the maximum without losing prime would be a problem. There would be no way to contol levels. A fuel pump to pump over the spare tank would work. It is good if the saddle tank is smaller than the stock tank- that way if you forget the switch you would still be good ( as long as the stock tankis near emty) . There are also 3 way valves- but the ports are small and it requires you to cut up the stock system pretty bad. On the suppy and the return.

The Transfer Flow system works great. It pumps fuel from the auxiliary tank through a double T into the vent line from the filler to the OEM tank.

So I hear you boys saying that I would have trouble trying to drain both tanks simultaneously (I would also fill them simultaneously with a common fill point in the cab guard wall of the flatbed--higher up than OEM input). Transfer Flow's system (with their spare-tire tank?) has an extra pump that pumps the auxiliary tank's fuel into the vent line of the main tank? What is the "double-tee" all about? I was hoping to avoid another pump but imagine TF would sell their kit to me. Sigh..... geusterman

Couldn't you just replace the OEM with Transfer Flows tank? I think it's a 57 gal size. Then you wouldn't have to deal with another pump, but still have about the same fuel capacity.

Here is what I am going to try. I believe our tanks (called 35 gal) are a little bigger but hard to get more fuel than that. So... . I am going to construct the saddle tank at 35 gallons plus and tie it into the supply side of the fuel system ahead of the factory tank. I will expect the lift pump to draw down both tanks... with perhaps the factory tank leading as it has less friction loss to the T in the line... . and when the guage reads E I will refill both tanks. They will fill off the same hole. No pump, guages, wires, switches, valves... . etc. Wish me luck. geusterman
