I have a W350 SRW that I want to put duallies under. I think I can just put the rears under and hook everything up but what about the front, what has to be done there. I am looking at a 2WD to rob parts but can I get the right spacing from the 2WD to move the 4WD front wheels out? The donor truck is not close enough yet for me to check it 0ut. Thanks

ahhh, no. A four wheel drive has a one piece hub assembly for the dual... . adapters can be bought, like from ArrowCraft, for around $300, IIRC. The locking hubs won't pass through the hub adapters for the '94+ trucks, or the two wheel drive adapters.

You can run with with out the dual set up on the front axel , however i got a set of gm

dana 60 front hubs if intersted not hubs you turn to lock into 4 wd but hubs to turn it into 1ton dually set up

Yeah. Not a fan of adapters for the rear. You have to remove the rtims to ensure the lugs to the axle are tight. When I got my crew they had been torquing the wheen nuts to the adapter for years and could not figure out why the wheels were loose. Damaged the adapters as the adapter nuts were not looked after.

CAn it be done, yes. As mentioned above, hubs need to be swapped.

Well, not for the sake of argument, but adapters can be used safely, I think. Many, many of the 2nd gen duallies have adapters, both 2 and 4 wheel drive, without incident. It's like BSchwarzli stated, they were not looked after. It's a maintanance issue, to me. You check them like you would anything else. I've run many adapters and spacers that work the same as adapters, and not had any problems, not that I haven't seen some that have had issues. The '93 has one piece hubs, discontinued by Wagner, so you'll have to find a GM hub similar in shape and fasion if you want a one piece. That is a pain, if you want to know. I've got some used GMs I'm saving for my next project. Or use an adapter, which is easy to find and install..... but it has to be looked after. Pick your poison, as the saying goes!! :D
