Hell don't listen to all the nay-sayers... . I listened to the same crock of s. . t way to long. I had wanted to run bigger tires on my dually since I ordered it, but never found anyone who had done it. And every one I ask said the rims were to small, spacers were unsafe, they would lower the tow rating, ect, ect. ect... .....
I foundly got feed-up and went for it , I put on 255-85-16's and choise a 1 1/4" aluminum spacer, best move I ever made. As a matrter of fact, when these BRG MUD tires were out (I should be getting at least 50,000 miles, there is no noticabile were after 2 years), I'm going to go even bigger. I Have pulled to key west,FL. , New Mexico, Silver Lake, MI, and countless otyher small trips, not one problem, none. The spacers go on just fine, and stay tight. When I first got them I checked several times to make sure I wasn't going to have any problems, but they were alway just fine. I really like the bigger tires, they like better, and the add width looks cool, people notice something looks different, but can't seem to figure it out. The mud tires might not be your cup of tea, but I love'm, they are not loud, and the tires have a great load rating. Also, I tow a very heavey gooseneck enclosed car hauler, my tounge weight is almost 3000 lbs. and I haven't had a problem. The tires also run pretty cool. I have never like to follow suit, and it's not the first time I ended up being the genny pig, most of the times it works, sometimes it don't(like the stupid PRE-LUBBER), but when it does it's great. Most of what I call fun is trying new things.
