Add the automatic control

I do not have a problem with her side or my side however she always thinks it is cooler than it is, what I would like to know is can the automatic temperature controls be added to my 2005 3500, Quad cab with the Laramie package. Would love to be able to set the temp at 70 then have it hold it there so she is not changing the temp setting every 5 minutes.

I too would be interested in any ideas on the prossibility of an automatic temperature control upgrade.

I also thank my lucky stars I bought a truck that came with the dual zone climate control since she believes turning the heater on is part of some "getting/riding in the truck" checklist!

I fixed my problem with just $29. 95... I brought the wifey an electric blanket from Cabela's it works great she just plugs that puppy in and I can have the truck at any temp I want :-laf :-laf

SOOOOO

If the Company I now own HAPPENS to come up with a kit for this dual A/C conversion,

Whats the odds i could sell a few? :)

Cause I'm all over it!! -- its in the R&D department right now, hehe

ok, wiring is done, and placement is done...

In theory, this is easy, BUT the install is CRAZY hard at this point - I will keep on working for a solution

hey tom, any more updates?

Yeah, I stopped R&D due to the complex install, I mean way not worth it

After I finish the Hurst Shifters I will look for another way to get the job done

yeah, i really can't complain about what i have. do you think the 06's they will make it standard or at least an option on the slt's?

Not that I can see. . BUT the new laramie will come with a power sliding rear window, and sirius sat. radio standard, and Heated leather (heated was an option in 2005)

I don't have any updates... I dropped my research on this when the banks told me that a 25 year old guy shouldn't be buying a $41k truck with a limited credit history... even if he could afford the payments.

Matt

They told me that because I'm 21, but they approved the loan anyway. They will take your money if you let them. :D

Are they taking my money or prying it out of my hands? :) The local credit union gets a LOT more money from me in the form of a mortgage than Chrysler Financial would have for a dang truck loan.

Hey TommyGun,

What's the complicated part of the install, the blender door install or the control panel wiring side of things?

For sure the blend door install - It is way inside the dash, 2-3 hours just to get to it I bet... yuck!

I would think you need to remove the heater case, same as doing a heater core and that would require complete dash removal. (pillar to pillar)

Ok, so it's hard to put in. It's also was really hard to think of the extra $2K+ over an SLT to go to the top level laramie package just for the dual zone. Do you have a parts list for those of us crazy enough to go there? Oo.

I'll see what I can dig up, I have all the research somewhere among all my papers...
