Dual zone climate control conversion...

Hoping some of my educated brothers can help me... . I've got the Laramie but my side is failing- at first it was intermittent no tresponse to sliding my control, now its just stuck on "bake the driver".



Is it more likely to be the control or the little electric gearbox that actuates the door- just looking for educated head start before I tear into the truck



... . edit- or maybe I've got a broken door? fix myself or go to the dealer?



FWIW it's worth to all the Laramie "Haters" I never wanted one, but when i bought my truck it was an odd duck (to the dealer- 3500 SRWSB 4. 10/now 3. 73 6 speed) stuck on the lot for 8 months so they just kept lowering the price till i bought it (I wanted an SLT with leather). Well, I'd have a hard time buying anything else now, between the dual power seats, steering wheel controls, better tunes and the climate control I'm hooked, even like the electric t-case knob and I'm a die hard wheeler

Visiting the various A/C and blend door threads.

This one is pretty old - guys wanting to install (ADD) the dual control.

As I indicated on another thread - we probably have used that
feature 2 or 3 times since we've had the ('05) truck.

Unfortunately - the blend doors (and/or related assys) fail
resulting in no A/C on the pas side.

Yeah it's "dual" alright . . . one side has some, other has none!

For anyone reading the thread - and thinking of doing an
"upgrade" to dual control - DON'T !!

The dealer fix lasted a little over a month.
