32' Motor Home or 5th Wheel????

One of the things haven't seen mentioned here yet, on my prowler (see Below) you can adjust the pin height--the big box that comes down from the trailer with pin on end is adjustable--haven't looked at alot of other trailer and hardly ever hear it mentioned on posts so may just be on some models (or option?). My first truck was 2500 CTD--traded for present truck and had no problem moving pin up about 6" or so... ... R, J. B. :D

Did forget to mention that info. Both my hitch and my box extension are adjustable. I think you will find that pretty much standard across the board

Adjusting the hitch on the truck or the 5er doesn't help if there is not enough clearance between the truck bed and the bottom of the 5er, ... if you want to keep the camper level.

I have a 31' Jayco and had to put the springs on top of the axle and add a 5" lift to the camper for everything to jive. I'm using a Reese 22k tilt hitch because of some of the rugged country we pull in and not liking to park next to someone else in some campground, we tend to stay beside creeks more often. I just had the old axles taken out and put heavier torflex axles under it, but had to lift the 5ver another 3" to do this. Can send photos if you're really interested.

I also have a Montana 2955RL and a 3500 (see signature).

Completely stock, height wise, with trailer package and overload springs from Dodge. I have 7 plus inches clearance and run down the road just about 1. 5 inches higher in front than in back. I've taken 4 trips through various terain, and over 1400 miles with on problems.

Do as much homework before you buy as you can. I actually purchased my 5th wheel 3 months before I received my truck and worried a bit as I could not get a straight answer regarding the actual truck height.

Patience...

I have a 2002 Cardinal 33TS and a 4X4 with a Cummins engine. Absolutely no alterations were made to either the 5ver or the truck. Most manufacturers of fifth wheels recognise that the 4X4s were out there are are making units that fit on those trucks. Before you flip or lower check out the new units. That should include the Jayco!
