Does anyone know of fenders, like those on the newer trucks, that are made for the first generation trucks? The ones on mine, the factory ones, look like an "after thought" rather than something that was planed. They look kinda like someone just hacked them out of a 55 gal. drum or something. That's the only thing I don't like about the looks of the first gen. trucks. Sure would like to find a set that would fix that little problem.

Hey Racer, One of these days I'm gonna fix that problem with an flatbed! The paint on my fenders looks like s***, plain and simple. I always thought that they looked alright, however I just don't like the paint situation. Sorry, can't think of any easy solution though.

Hey Guys, I know what your talking about. A guy near me has a set on his dually that looks alot like the early Chev. dually fenders. Their aftermarket but look really good, change the whole look of the truck. I"ll see if I can run him down and get the details (where, who makes, cost, etc. ) I"ll post as soon as I can catch him.

Well I guess I'll start by saying "SORRY"! I caught the guy I was talking about in earlier post and here's the story... He bought the truck in 96 and they had the after market fenders already on it. He doesn't know anything about who, what,or where, etc. He even let me look them over closely(thought I might find a "Makers Impression" but no luck. They are fiberglass and have a cut out on the left front part of the left fender for access to the stock fuel door. I can only suggest youall contact some current fender makers and see if "maybe" they have some older stuff still in stock. SORRY!!!

Thanks anyway Billy, and the rest of you. It was a long shot. I'm sure someone makes them, or has made them in the past. Maybe I'll stumble up on a set in the future somewhere. You know how it goes, when you look for something you usually don't find until you don't need it! Take care, and thanks again... ... ..... Racer

I'm with J, I love the old fenders. Nice and compact, no more than necessary.

I like the looks of the 1st generation truck, fenders and all, hands down over the 2d generation look. Let's talk functionality. The first generation fenders are fully funtionally and cost a hell of alot less to replace then the fancy, more then you need, Ford, GM, look alike fenders on the 2d generation trucks.

Does anyone know where you can get replacement fenders for first gen duallies. I have a 3/4 ton and want to convert it to a dually. I believe that those little dually fenders will bolt right up. Does anyone know otherwise? Tony

They won't. The dually fender opening is full wheel well sized. You'd need to modify the 3/4 ton fender or get 1 ton fenders.
