Thanks,I do have Evans Diagram,he was kind enough to send me.

it is a little different setup ie, it sets up Amber turn signals. Would be slick,I just haven't gotten around to doing it.

This setup on the Ford site just makes the dually clearance lights

blink like a turn signal. They use a trailer convertor used to convert the 3 light system to a 2light on the trailer, only they use

as near as I can figure, the dually fender lights like the trailer. Obvioulsy I am not sure,so thought I would ask.

Thanks

It Does Work

I purchased a convertor from Camping World. .

There is a splice in wiring harness at rear of bed. . a little to the right. Seperarted the wires for the dually rear clearance lights there. Hooked the two wires OUT of Convertor to the wires(Left and Right)

Hooked the "Tow Vehicle" wires to the wires for the left and right

turn and brake. . in loom under the spare tire and to the left.

Ground wire,to ground... The brake wire on the convertor is on the

clearance light wire for all the clearance lights wire,The above mentioned Splice has several wires in it. among them four (2 to each side) for the Fender clearance lights. And the main one coming from up front. . The brake wire went to that. . I don't know why it works that way,but it does. They seem to work fine.

Lights on: Clearance lights normal,Turn signal on,fender lights blink with the turn signal,

Lights Off: Fender lights still blink with turn signal...

Only thing:The two clearance lights on each side of the dually fenders, come on with the brakes.

Haven't cleaned it up yet or soldered connections. . but seems like it is going to work OK. Single filament bulbs BTW

Whoops,not quite

Went out this PM and ckecked it again... Works like I said except:

When the lights are on and hit the brakes... the fender clearance lights go out. . If they are signalling and hit the brakes they are not affected. . Must be something to do with putting the brake wire

input to Converter to the clearance light circuit, but I "thought" that was the only way it would work. Maybe I didn't get a good connection when I tried it on the brake wire.

More tomorrow.

Wired a Friend's Freightliner

Gents:

I wired the front marker sticks on a friend's Freightliner that worked like what you want: ran one side to batterr side of front turn signal and ran the other side to battery side of parking lights. Solid light when parking lights on, blink when turn signal on.

I just bought a 3500 and add this to experiment one weekend.

I got my side markers to do this, but one problem... . my side markers are LED's in which current will only flow one direction.
