my Ram flaps go through the wash no problems. Its not an issue.
Mine too. The paint on the other hand....not so much.

Side note....., I went through a car wash last week (rode in truck) and the big @$$ fan that dries the truck at the end was causing the hood to deflect inward significantly over the center area.... Is it OK? it was fluttering in the center like a towel waiving on a clothes line on a windy day! I sure don't want dents, creases, or worst paint failure? What are these hoods made of?
No car wash for me, never have and never will.
The biggest reason I use them is the undercarriage wash. If I could just get that part I would. It’s nice to get grime and such washed out of all the nooks and crannies.
Since you brought up the hood flex, I was towing our RV after Christmas and was passed by a 19+ and noticed the hood side flexing in the wind. Are you experiencing this too?

Maybe I need to make my own with a galvanized pipe and some nozzles that I can use hooked up to my pressure washer? and sell it one EBAY?!

Rain gear and pressure washer! Become one with the machine.
"I’ve been known to park over a sprinkler thou"
I've a pal who does that, except he has a PVC rack with 4 heads and connects it to his hot H20 heater.
I was stationed at Keflavic Iceland for a year and opted to wash truck about once a week, and it was way below freezing most of the time. My objective was to keep salt and ice free from the undercarriage. Truck was outside the whole time. Also touched up paint chips as well. Cheated yesterday on the 5500 and went through car wash, nice high pressure spray for undercarriage and about a 90 grade for overall wash.
It worked. Always have and always will wash undercarriage and body from my perspective and experience.
Cheers, Ron
