AWESOME at night. Distance view at least doubled and look sharp. They are rated at 10,000 hours and consume something like a third less power.

ToolMan,

Great looking lights!! Could these lights be mounted on the running boards also, or do I need a base on which to mount them? I think I need a few of these for my truck, but I want to be able to have the same type of lights on the running boards. What do you think??

Chris

well,

The lights snap into the factory brackets allready in the dually fender. Aquire a few of those factory D/C brackets and you have got the same look as the rest. ;)

You can get replacements from GROTE I believe. The sockets and lights are the same style. Grote also makes LED style but they aren't as bright as these ones. They only have one row of about 5 leds. Installing LED will significantly drop the power draw on your systems, not to mention they look cool. .

what about 2500's?

 Does anyone make LED replacements for the 2500 or 3500 front and rear signal and brake lights. Maybe a bulb or replacement full lense?

Hop to www.awdirect.com and see what Truck Lite has in store for you. One of their lights is the same dimensions and is a direct replacement for the 3500 fender marker light. They make them in LED too, and I have 39 of them running around the lower perimeter of my truck, right on the lip at the very bottom of the body. One of the screws is a direct ground and the bezel has only one wire coming from it, which is a positive +. They draw like only 11 amps, all 39 of them. On the front airdam, which is plastic, I had to run pigtail grounds to each mounting screw and then use a common ground wire to connect it to a metal piece of frame.

The LEDs do look much better than the stockers and they will last almost forever. The fact that the they draw a lot less amperage is a mixed blessing... . the down side being that they won't heat up and melt away ice and snow. Not a problem down south, but if you haul a snowmobile around 6 months of the year it could be an issue.
