Is $306. 25 list or is that a Tomeygun good deal? If that is a discounted price what would be the approximate freight to Reno NV?

that is the TDR price, I think shipping would be close to $25, but i would have to verify

i got my light bar and wire harness today. i looked it over for a whileand decided i have no idea how to mount it. i thought it would be 2 mounting holes and a hole for the harness, but the wire harness that runs from bulb to bulb won't recess flush into the housing. it looks like i have to cut a channel out, the length of the bar. any suggestions?

OH WOW! you weren't kidding. i just checked out your readers rigs. you really did convert a dually. i guess that means i can reclaim my title as the first to do the tailight conversion. this weekend i will definately get it done.

Maybe the loght sockets hold the bar in place, and the wire between the lights runs inside the tailgate.

Lightbar install pics from Sunday

I wasn't sure how to route the wiring, etc, so I dropped by the dealer. They let me take a picture of one off the lot:

I marked the middle of each light bulb location and drilled pilot holes.

Then I got out the 1 1/4" hole saw and began to cut it up.

I soon relized that I was much to lazy to continue with the little hacksaw above. Being careful not to get things too hot, I used this to cut away the metal between the two center holes:

The masking tape was to save the rest of my tailgate from me and my tools. :) Now the holes are cut.

I filed down the edges and used some touch up paint to clean it up and help keep it from rusting.

Looks pretty good installed. Unfortunately it isn't lit in this picture because I didn't wire it up until after I took the pictures. The stock non-dually wiring harness does NOT have a plug that this lightbar harness will fit into. It requires the "heavy duty" wiring harness which is only found on the duallies.

For power, I used the wires that used to go to my license plate lights. After installing my Road Armor rear bumper, those weres were unused. Had I not used those, I would have spliced and soldered a connection into the flat 4-connector trailer wiring harness plug.

Hope this helps! Oo.

Oh, by the way -- I used self tapping sheet metal screws to attach it. Unfortunately, all I could find were silver screws, but it wasn't anything my trusty sharpie marker couldn't fix! Good luck!

congratulations! it came out great. i did notice the wiring harness on the truck didn't have the plug. i think i am going to cut the plug off the harness and tap into the license plate light wires. thanks for the helpful pictures. so how far are you from littlerock?

I live about 20 miles south of Fayetteville. I drilled holes for the alignment dowels, but since I missed one by about 1/16th, I cut that one off. :)

HELLO; yes a good idea, however, i did do this when i bought my truck... it only works as a STOP LIGHT. The tech that added it to the tailgate told me it could be wired to do many types of lite tricks! Enjoy...

I installed mine yesterday and it looks fantastic. I just cut off the factory wiring snap connector and added about 2 feet of wiring. The two wires were then installed into 4 way trailer wire under truck. This way i can still remove my tailgate when needed.

I finally got it done. i printed out PATRIOT_Ram's directions and took my truck to a small autobody shop and told them what to do. i bought a universal 2 prong weather proof trailer connecter from autozone and had the guy snip off the factory end and then splice the other end into the license plate light wires. now i have a quick disconnect if i need to pull the tailgate off.
