Hello again, I've got a dually on order, and am going to try and change a couple of options, and was curious about wheel/tire options. Anybody know if the 8 in. wide wheels are for DRW or SRW only?? and any input on them. Thanks in advance... Michael

The only options for tires or wheels on duallies is the tread pattern of the tire. AT or AS.

Thanks for the replies everyone... I thought the wheel options were for srw's. Also... another plug fpr Bossier Dodge in Bryan TX. ihave been treated incredibly by Chad in Trucks, courtesy delivery etc. Got a great price. Went to a Mesa AZ dealer beforehand, and was quoted msrp, and treated like an idiot, had my truck ordered with Bossier within hours... couldn't be happier!!!

Those types of dealers might be able to shaft the little old ladies that buy cars, but they sure as heck won't sell many CTD's! (I personally believe there will be a special place in hell for people that cheat old ladies).

Here is an idea from another thread that should work for a DRW, either as a DRW or as a conversion to SRW:

DBVZ: The 19. 5" rims allow you to run with commercial (C), not light truck (LT) tires. The 215/85 R16's that I have for my dually only carry ~2400#'s per tire. The load Range F are rated ~3600#'s. To get to the same capacity that you would have with the dual on a single you would need a load range G which is 4500-4800#'s depending on brand.

Michelin make a load range G in a 225/70R19. 5. This tire size is almost the same as the 3/4 ton stock tires (235/85R16). It is slightly over my dually tires (215/85R16). So the speedo and ABS are minimally effected. And if it still bothers you there are ways to correct.

It really sucks that you have to go through all of this. Have you tried working a special order with Dodge? My dad knows a guy that wanted limited slip on the front axle as well as the back. After a lot of talking with Dodge they finaly built it from him. (It may have been cheaper and easier to do what you are doing. )

Changing the wheels and tires out would still be a good thing. I can't figure out why Dodge does't offer them as at least an option.

Seems like the 225/70R19. 5's should fit where 235/80R17's fit. If it stays a DRW, I am not sure what is gained by the 19. 5" wheels - except perhaps some other tire tread options. You still have the width limitation. I was looking at ideas to convert the RC DRW to an SRW, and have 4,000 pound rated wheels and tires on the rear. The Rickson 19. 5 wheels are rated for 3500 pounds.

Mconstable,

My parents like you are very happy with the deal they got from Bossier. All the dealers here in Colorado wanted MSRP or better on the trucks even the dealership that we had purchased 2 rams from before. So we called up Bossier and they faxed us a quote and then ordered the pickup. It was delivered to a local dealership and all we had to do was pick it up. Kudos to Jim Hall and Chad from Bossier they're great people to work with.
