what's best split pipe with 3" duals or a single pipe? I would prefer duals for the look. thanks... ... ... ... ... ... and I will be losing the cat and muff... ... ... ... ... ... ... .
My first mod was to cut off the cat and put a 3" mandrel bent 90-degree pipe on the downpipe..... it was LOUD and PROUD! So... yesterday I connected the downpipe right to the stock tailpipe with a 6-foot section of 3" O. D. aluminized exhaust pipe that I had flared out to 3" I. D. on either end at my local Meineke muffler shop for free. Now the truck almost sounds darn near stock as far as loudness... . nowhere near as loud as before... . it sounds kinda funny too... not sure if I like it or not yet.
When I go twin turbo, the exhaust will be 5" so the 3" will have to do for now...
In my opinion, I'd go with the biggest single pipe I could afford/fit under the truck... . but that's just me.
