I just recently had a major transmission overhaul and had some problems today. I used 4 low to pull a trailer up a steep gravel boat ramp and when I got to the top the t case lever was flopping around , clearly not attached to anything. I went under neath to look and saw a clip missing from the linkage connection. I reconnected it, but had no clip to keep it there. The duct tape is holding it fine for now, but it sure makes me wonder how the rest of it was put back together.

Anyone know what the part looks like that actually keeps the linkage fastened to the shift lever? I cant tell for sure, but it looks like it would just be a flimsy little keeper clip. Could this have legitiamately rattled off on washboards? I wouldn't think so.

Went to dealer today. The t case linkage connects to the shift lever via a rubber bushing. the bushing is not replaceable so they will be installing a $150 replacement lever. Fortunately it's still under warrantee.
