2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission dumb a/c question

This question is probably dumber than I think it is, but here goes.

My a/c has been running warm all summer ( it is cooling off a little, but not nearly as cool as it used to run)

My engine has also been running warmer than usual this summer as well. I saw a thread talking about the breather bottle being filled up and spraying oil all over the radiator, so when I had my oil changed today, I had them change it. (It was full, and oil over the bottom of the engine). He suggested just spaying the inside of the radiator with "gunk' and washing it off with the sprayer at a car wash. (I did that, but I doubt if I really was able to do a good job).



Anyway, can the radiator possibly being covered in part by oil cause the a/c to run warmer than it should ? Or do you think I need to make a trip down to Grease Monkey for an a/c service ? (The a/c compressor seems to be coming on like it should. Just doesnt blow very cold air.

in most cases its the rad that gets full of not the AC condenser, the AC condenser is the first one you see on the left side when you open the hood

if everything is coming on then i would say the AC is under charged, over charging can cause the same problem,

getting back to the rad, it is a good idea to clean it all out you may have to remove it to do so,

you can make your own kit to re-locate the catch can and get rid of that problem, i made mine out of heater hose and a piece of 1. 5" PVC piping about 4"long with a breather on top and a drain valve on the bottom (home Depo about $10) i mounted it down on thew frame about 5ft back from the motor, just remember to make your catch can the lowest point with no other low spots in the line, you want a nice flow to the new can

If you lack sufficient air flow through the A/C condensor you will not have good cooling. The radiator needs to be clean to allow the fan to pull air through both.
