dumb auto question

Exactly how many quarts of atf does the A518OD hold? I'm not asking textbook, the actual when you drain and refill with a new filter.

I don't know what the book says, but I did an overnight drain and filter change last winter. I added a little over 6 quarts for the road test. I didn't quite use up #7 to top it off after getting up to temp.

just checkin mine took 7 wasnt sure if it was actually full or if it was working up the tube.

Other reason is when its cold (just started) It doesn't like to move but after it warms up it goes like a bat!!!any Ideas???

Yes. The fluid does NOT circulate when the transmission is in Park. Idle in neutral for a minute or two and you will notice a big difference.

My 92 will require 6. 7 qts to refill after a simple service. It will require 12qts to refill after a major service.
